The Child 18,997
So let’s just start by saying that this is not a hate thread, any hateful/rude post will be reported. I’m just worried cause I have been a Gaga fan since more than 10 years now I have bought every album of hers, I have always supported her, I have always been hyped for any album of hers (even C2C), even for any project of hers I have been hyped (except Haus Labs lol) but the hype I had for Chromatica has just vanished. I know damn well Gaga was busy with Miss Corona but Dua Lipa still made live performances from her home, Katy Perry performed her lead single Daisies on Amazon Music today live from her home, I’m not mad at Gaga, I’m just extremely sad (yeah I know how pathetic of me to be sad about music) cause I feel like this era is such a big missed opportunity, Gaga is best when she’s with her piano, I just thought that she would have find a way to perform Stupid Love live from her home with a piano just like she used to perform her singles at the piano before and now we only ever hear from her when it’s time to buy some merch. She also could have made interviews from her home like so many others did. I just feel like Gaga is not excited about this or like she feels like Chromatica is just a side project. Please, keep in mind that I’m not being negative, I just love Gaga & her music so much and I’m simply sharing my concerns. PS: I bought my signed copy and vinyl so maybe I’m 1% hyped. ‘If religion be the cause of disunity, then irreligion is surely to be preferred.’ ‘Abdu’l-Bahá
Bubblegum Bitch 18,934
I can relate to this. When I listened to Free Woman I was excited about Chromatica, and I wished this album to be released as soon as possible. But today I be like - No hype again, unfortunately. Thongs, jockstraps, etc. don't excite me, this is not what I would like to see.

I feel like maybe I got my hopes way too high this year and Gaga just hasn’t delivered because I expected a full visual era (I love the Chromatica visuals) I would have wanted more visuals to explain the tribes etc and we didn’t get more than posters & a disappointing music video. ‘If religion be the cause of disunity, then irreligion is surely to be preferred.’ ‘Abdu’l-Bahá
BgRaEgTaT 1,543
As long as her album goes number 1 I think we should be satisfied. This era is going to be a nonevent now I’m afraid. At least we’re finally getting pop music again tho
OMonster 14,675
Yeah, unfortunately, because of how Gaga / her team have handled this, the release of Chromatica feels like being relieved from misery / anticipation... not excitement or buzz - which is absolutely not what a Gaga release, at least for me, has ever felt like before. Added on to how Gaga herself hasn't talked about the era or showed any passion for this new body of work... it feels difficult to not feel jaded by all of this. For me, personally, the record will always be tainted now. subtext / fantasy

Oyster 2,458
she doesnt really care that much, i think. if she did we would be getting much more promotion and effort. hope she proves me wrong when the album comes out

Yes! I understand pandemic ruined her plans but why can't she film some homemade music videos?
Maleficent 6
I relate to this because, more than anything, I don't see the point of listening to pop music right now really. It's not like I'm going out clubbing or partying and want something to dance to...I want something more mellow and calming that can lower my heart rate. Brecht 7
I have a feeling they just want to get this done with.
Stephen 30,423
The reason is bc the world is so different now with the pandemic, streaming is down overall and you have to grab people's attention. I think that's why she's concentrating the hype/promo to just before the album release. If she was hyping up the album all month, people might get bored or tired. Reaching "overexposure" is completely different now, she has to be careful. Everything's going to explode next week with the release of ROM, and it will pique interest in the album which will only be a few days away. The hype is better to stay reserved until just before release.
Gracious Gaga 17,163
how could any of us not genuinely be excited for new Gaga music tho? even if theres no promo- who cares! we're about to get a new album! lets just patiently wait. we have no control over anything anyways LOL edit: I guess the music will be what it is. regardless of the way its presented to us. nothing can change the quality of the music. it will have to speak for itself. and thats true for any album. an album could get hyped & promoted to DEATH and be full of horrible songs. ♥ Kindness Police. TheSlash 14,539
I agree. It may be bc of Coronatica that everything's so different in this era, but I remember being hyped for every album release and not being able to sleep properly the night before release due to my massive anticipation ( I really was like x 1000 ). But with Chromatica....well, I'm hyped, but in a way I'm hyped for any other release. It has nothing special to it anymore . I'm sure I will enjoy the album and I'll listen it to death, but the anticipation is almost anticlimactic . Ew, David!
S0436 10,215
The hype has not gone, it is merely hibernating.
Lucas 26,663
Agreed! My hype has been close to 0 tbh. Gaga herself showed no excitement for the era so far imo
