What is 100% clear is that Ariana has really over-saturated herself. This is the 4th song she's put out post-album (Monopoly, Boyfriend, Don't Call Me Angel and now this) and all of them under-performed and the public moved on from them quickly, they haven't made a dent in terms of longevity. But even so, this was different, it was a charity single based on the pandemic that is affecting all countries right now and she's teaming up with the highly successful Justin who has lots of fans. This should've had #1 written all over it. Its lack of success so far has shocked me. It's sickening how much fewer views and likes it has compared to that 6ix9ine song which came out on the same day. And they're really pushing it as well - it has 4 videos (the official one, a lyric video, a prom scenes video and a Mother's Day edition). But the demand just isn't there. As for Justin, this is also a sign that his flop album era isn't just down to bad music. They're not even supporting him when he's teamed with the hit-maker Ariana for a charity single. Which also shows that the public are getting wise when it comes to charity singles. They're now more than happy to donate to a cause but won't buy the song associated with it just because of who's on it. Essentially "I'll donate, but I'm not giving anyone an easy hit song out of it, that's sneaky." We've become not as impressed by celebrities in quarantine and it's now a case of no, I don't like it when they try to capitalise off human tragedy to get a #1.

The charts are so weird right now. People are supporting artists I never thought they would and paying dust to others. It's going to be wild to see where Chromatica's going to go at this rate.

I think with 69 releasing that song and the amount of streams it got since release, Stuck With U is not going to debut number one which is why she’s doing this in the first place. 
 

Do you think artists should put statements out like this? Or should they just let things run their course?

I actually respect that she's opening up about something that bothers a lot of artists (Nicki Minaj went crazy when she did not debut at número 1 on the Billboard 200). Happy for her to be realistic.
