Canada's Drag Race: First Look

Looks like RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars season 5 isn't the only pageant revving its engines — Canada's Drag Race is on its way as well. First announced last year, the latest iteration of the show just debuted its first look.

If for nothing else, Canada's Drag Race will make history as the first version of the show to have an alum of the franchise as a permanent host; welcome your Queen In the North, Brooke Lynn Hytes. The season 11 runner-up joins Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman and Stacey McKenzie on the panel, and apparently, it came after she suggested the idea at the World of Wonder offices.

"When you get on Drag Race, the clock is ticking," Hytes told Entertainment Weekly in an interview. "You’re given 15 minutes of fame and you have to do something with it or not, it’s up to you to figure out how you’re going to make this last for yourself and turn it into a huge career." So, in 2019 when she was visiting the offices of the production company that created the Drag Race world, she told the employees there that she dreamed of hosting a Canadian version. And while official releases have yet to call her the host exactly, she's pretty freaking close! Apparently, we aren't set to see an all-powerful Ru-esque host.

Not very interested in spin offs without RuPaul, and Brooklyn being a judge seems so odd to be, am I the only one that feels this?

LOVE JUNKIE

Having no Ru is one thing, this judging panel is another :green:

Maybe they're big in Canada, but I only know of Brooke. And no main host? I'll definitely give it a chance, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Also "Canada's Drag Race" is such a clunky title. I'm just gonna call it Drag Race Canada :huntyga:

I'll give it a shot since UK was great but personally I'm content with just the Regular Seasons and All Stars.

I think 6 variations of the same show is a bit much.

Drag Race Thailand's doing good without Ru. And I actually see it nice that he "passes the torch" to alumni. But watching that pic of him sitting in what looks like the Snatch Game set makes me feel like it's gonna be a bit weird watching this, idk...

Yea she looks butch on the promo pic of her in drag. It reminds me of a peruvian drag show that Gia Gunn was in, The judge who was in charge of the show looked so butch and dared to judge people's looks. My point of view may be wrong to some but if your judging a drag show then you have to be fish, pass as a woman.
