    • Yes, it surpassed my expectations for a Gaga album.
    • Yes, it matches my expectations for a Gaga record.
    • No, Future Nostalgia is good but it's not on Gaga's level.
    • No, Future Nostalgia is not good whether for Gaga or Dua.

It’s good for Dua, but mediocre for someone capable of much more like Gaga.

You're all saying Gaga is capable of doing better, but from what I heard from Stupid Love, Future Nostalgia is actually up her ally. Those singles have been superior and I like Stupid Love and think it's her best leading single so far since Bad Romance. So, no Future Nostalgia doesn't really sound it's below of what Lady Gaga is capable of or what we're used to hearing from her.

Do you think Gaga is above releasing mediocre songs?

Mr S

FN is great but it is a bit too basic for Gaga and she would likely be criticized for that.

She probably would over sing some of the songs too which would alter them for better or worst.

It's a good album, but nothing more to me. I feel like it really is overrated. I mean 89 on metacritic? Mmm

Sugar, spice, and everything nice.

another topic for little insecurities trash one of the best albuns of the year with words like "generic, basic"

funny that this same people then gets SUPER offended and defensive, using the "NeGaTiViTy" excuse when anyone use this same words to critizise Stupid Love or anything from gaga career

She’s not above releasing mediocre songs, she’s done it a few times. But she’s proved many many times that she can do better. Dua still hasn’t to this day.

No, but I think to have an album that doesn’t experiment significantly musically, thematically, and lyrically would be mediocre in the context of how much raw talent and creativity she has. Dua is good for what she is, but I think when you are a legend like Gaga that can excel in so many genres and has, doing an album like Future Nostalgia would be a regression even from a work like The Fame.

I'd definitely unstan... she's better than that. Only outstanding song is Hallucinate

To be honest, it's a great album for Dua Lipa's standards. I'm not saying it's bad though. It just doesn't match what Gaga can do.

I bought this album because I liked "Physical" and "Don't Start Now" and heard everyone praising the album so I thought it would be right up my alley. I actually really like Dua. But this album is just not that great as a whole. Most of the songs are duds to me and then the few album tracks I did like have really just unenjoyable verses and I can't make it to the chorus before skipping. The pacing of the album is poor too and felt like it dragged out because they front loaded it. Some albums are good enough to front load and still carry their weight but this was not one of them. "Boys Will Be Boys" was a good song but a real whimper for the album to go out on. I almost think that even if they just moved "Don't Start Now" as the last track after it then it could at least let the album go out strongly. It's got some great growth for Dua, but overall is just not a great album as a whole for me. I think her albums keep getting stronger though and next album may be where I get on board fully - FN was enough to keep me interested but not enough to impress or revisit as a whole.
