not Chromatica 5,393 Posted May 9, 2020 Share Posted May 9, 2020 As you know, the concept of Chromatica is based on color & music theory (the chromatic scale, which "covers all 12 of the available pitches"). A while after the title was revealed (along with its meaning) I suddenly remembered something: the Twelve Notes dialogue from A Star Is Born. Particularly the part when Jack's brother says: "Jack talked about how music is essentially 12 notes between any octave. Twelve notes, and the octave repeats. It's the same story, told over and over, forever. All any artist can offer the world is how they see those 12 notes. That's it." Now, I'm thinking that the latter part must have inspired Gaga to start thinking about this concept, since it was around the time of filming ASIB that she also started making the infamous LG6 which we now know as Chromatica. I’m curious to know what she was working on with DJ White Shadow since he went from being the executive producer of ARTPOP’s little sister to not be part of it at all. Same thing with Joanne when she did some stuff with RedOne then started working with Mark Ronson and changed the direction of it. The part after Tea (which I timestamped) is pretty much like a mix between SOPHIE and Iglooghost and that seems to be the sound he was going for at the time. Also, around that period they were still working together (I think). Then maybe Gaga decided to work with SOPHIE herself, for a breath of fresh air (idk I'm just throwing possible scenarios around), but judging by the fact that even she might not be on the album at all...
