And look what happened: MIA eventually had to eat crow. But this lame tweet just plays right into what Die Antwoord wanted. It could have been that way, but after their TWO more responses to Gaga calling her fat and "we are cooler! we don't have prawns in our private parts... haha" they are just more pathetic that they were only after releasing the video. Then why would they follow up with another post calling her fat? I just read this online. Good point: I have had time to digest the Fatty Boom Boom video by Die Antwoord. Besides being in black face, the birth of a large slimy cockroach from a human host and the eating of said human by a lion... my beef is that this video illuminates the weakness of the music the video was intended to highlight. This band has made a big deal about rebuking an invitation by Lady Gaga to tour with her as if the sheer invite was an insult to their supposed street cred. This is all well and good if only Die Antwoord were not now exploiting Ladies Gaga's likeness to sell a mediocre song. As a fan of the bands I Fink U Freeky video this new one is a big disappointment and I won't be buying another album. The "fatty" is referring to DJ Hi-Tek (not the guy playing him in the video) who is overweight. Yolandi says "HEY FATTY BOOM BOOM HIT ME WITH THE CHING CHING" she's talking to DJ hi-Tek. This was obvious to fans when the album came out. If they wanted to make fun of her weight gain, they could have had a fat person play her. PLS GUYS GET A GRIP. That she should be better than Die Antwoord? Well, I can't prove that she should be, but I think she should. And I think she is. That it's not going to affect her success? It definitely wouldn't. Or that insinuating that commercial success is what validates art is tacky? True. That's an opinion I can't prove. But it's something I firmly believe, and I think most would agree.
