TBH I'm pretty sure if Gaga, Ariana, Rihanna, Bey, etc. only put out songs like this as singles they would constantly have #1s (or at least top 5s) because the sound appeals to nearly everyone. I don't mean it as shade (Ariana is one of my favs), but fans who b*tch about Gaga not charting higher while simultaneously calling songs basic....don't seem to get that "safe" is the easiest way to chart nowadays for a pop-ish song.
