Earlier today, I was relentlessly humming the godly post chorus of Rain On Me ("I hear the thunder coming down on me...") and it got me thinking.. Do you all think that that part of the song will follow every chorus, or will only follow the second/last chorus? Gaga has done songs in the past where the second portion of the chorus isn't introduced until later in the song (ie. The "I could be your girl, girl, girl.." hook after the second chorus & final chorus of Heavy Metal Lover) and I think it might be the case for ROM? For those of you that heard the early leak of Rain On Me, you'll remember that after the first part of the chorus ("I'm out of the downpour, at least I'm alive..." or whatever she says), it dropped out to a deep, robotic voice repeating "Rain on me, me, me" rather than going into the second part of the chorus. Some of y'all think that this robotic voice part was scrapped and replaced for the longer chorus, but it might just be the structure of the first chorus?? What do y'all think? Will Rain On Me snatch the Pop Duo/Group Performance grammy either way, or would you prefer one of the outcomes over the other? Am I thinking about ROM too much? Is my quarantine boredom showing?
