Is she going to release another single before the album?

Even for Joanne we heard 3 songs (PI, MR, AYO) before the album was released, so I think a song on Friday and then ROM on the 22nd.  Wasn’t the plan to release the ROM MV on the same day as the album to increase streams?

I think we're getting ROM next Friday, and I actually believe the Fortnite debut rumors... but honestly she should have dropped it right after the tracklist, the hype would have been huge

It would be cleaver and amazing if she releases a promo single next friday or the 15th and ROM one week before Chromatica.

With all of the time taken to even get this era started, and now the total silence post-SL, she had BETTER have worked out which songs are planned to be singles, how they will be released, and how they will be promoted. Literally every era after TFM has been totally de-railed by sloppiness surrounding which songs to put out, and now that it FINALLY made sense to push a promo single in order to maintain hype/awareness level of SL after delays, she sat.

A promo single 04/10 that 'unlocked' another tribe supported by promo - even bare min. social posts - on how it builds on SL toward the Chromatica story would've given SL the boost it needed to retain its strength on radio, provided a second taste of the album's vibe for those who weren't into SL, fed thirsty fans, and reminded the GP she was alive. 

If 05/29 is the release date, that is 1 week after BTW was dropped. Prior to its release, BTW + Judas were released as official singles, Hair + EOG as promo singles, with EOG switched to an official single after it debuted at #3 on the H100. 4 songs total, 3 official singles; remove Judas and release EOG as an official single from the start, and that would've been perfect:

01/11/2011 - Lead Single = BTW

04/15/2011 - Promo Single = Hair

05/09/2011 - Single 2 = EOG

05/23/2011 - ALBUM

Like, it doesn't have to be either extreme; the leadup to BTW was a mess and led to EOG missing #1 and all but ended the era due to overexposure. Even after screwing up EOG, she STILL said re: Hair that "it's not intended as a single, but if it sells like EOG..." Lesson obviously not learned: repeated during ARTPOP destroying DWUW's shot at a Top 10, and during Joanne, cutting the era short when MR was the most serviceable song on the album. 

I *hope* the plan is for:

1. Promo Single #1 - for this Friday that is much more lyrically complex and edgier than SL.

2. Single #2 - Rain on Me - for 5/22.

3. Single #3 - the best song on the album - for mid-July/early August with heavy promo/performances lined up.

4. Potential for single #4 if the 3rd charts well in the fall to wind down the era since SL didn't have enough time in front of the GP to stick and I'd really like to see her add at least 2 solo songs off Chromatica onto her permanent setlist.
