Would’ve Gaga’s Super Bowl been more grand if she got it earlier?

The halftime we got is one of the best honestly and is iconic but it came to a point in Gaga’s life when everything is toned down, doesn’t mean she failed to deliver the GAGA pop show we wanted.

But visually do you think if she got it in like 2012 or something there would’ve been 100 flying unicorns in the air and gigantic robot monsters everywhere and such stuff knowing her headspace back then

Not from her side. She absolutely smashed her performance (sans few questionable choice for choreo).

OT: In terms of exposure and it's impact on charts. Yes. Bad Romance could have sky rocketed to #1 if it was a weak week. You could hear the shift in energy once bad romance played

Maybe. She does say in Five Foot Two that she doesn't wanna do these things, like performing naked, and very crazy stuff because that's what everybody would expect.

She clearly said on FF2 that she didn’t want to do all of that bc it was expected of her and she wanted to come out doing something different.

Oh my God, 3 years later and I'm still in shock that people thought it was tame, the woman came down from the roof ffs, what did you want her to do for it to be "grand"? Kill herself on stage?

She got it in the best time possible. Anything before 2012 would've been too early, 2012-2014 she would've destroyed her performance as she made some questionable decisions during that timeframe (R. Kelly, Swinefest) and she was disliked all over the US. Maybe 2016 would've been a good year too, but 2017 was a great moment.

Yes i know that tho that’s why I’m wondering what if that meeting happened when she was still attached to her Monster antics

I never said it was tame it was still crazy i was just curious what could’ve been if it did not come during joanne era I’m not even complaining

Well maybe it would have been more grand yeah. She had a very distinctive shtick and brand back then, it’s hard to imagine her breaking away from that. But by 2017 she had already branched out and shown more facets to her artistry, so it was easier for her do something different.

It happened at the perfect time to me. She celebrated her career in a classy yet perfect way + it reminded people who Lady Gaga is

It was already one of her grandest and "Gaga" performances. She flew down from the roof, had a bunch of drones flying around, wore her typical sparkly leotard and eye patch, danced great, played with her keytar and danced around fire in the background. It was her most spectacle performance to date and it looked like a remnincent of her "The Fame" performances. It was everyone you can want and expect from her.

Do you really think just because she did some controversial and lame performances when Born This Way and ARTPOP albums came out that she would've done the same for the Superbowl? She knows how to perform for the audience watching her and it would've been the same no matter what album she was promoting at the time. The one thing I love about it is that she didn't do anything controversial or political and just focused on being a good performer 

I do wish she performed The Edge of Glory longer...
