KNJ 4,170
It has always bothered me that this girl was dragged for this. I'm from the NYC area and I would bet serious money that that girl was saying "Mami" as in Mamacita NOT "mommy" as in creepy af. I here it ALL the time. I was thinking Mother's Day is the perfect opportunity to get Netflix to at the very least change the friggin subtitles so this girl isn't seen as crazy for the rest of time. They could do it on their gay-centric meme IG with a toungue-in-cheek post? Maybe have her screenshot and "Mami, Mami" as the cap? Something just like this that they did for 4/20 😆... was even thinking of going on Reddit ( God help me) and drumming up debate to support her. What do you guys think? Whats the best way to do this? Thanks😘 "She's an intellectual, your honor"
Venus Rose 5,638
You know what? Various points were made. This makes sense. I'm not sure about getting it all the way to Netflix, but it definitely wouldn't hurt to try.
VOLANTIS 16,406
The fact that Gaga let that footage sequence make the final cut knowing very well that girl would get dragged wasn't very Kindness Punk of her. Francesca Cipriani 1,668
even if is "mami", it's still creepy af. So, no

That's a common word used to get a woman's attention, especially in Latino culture. It isn't creepy.

Well.. you both have a point. But Gaga stated multiple times that she only watched a couple of scenes from the documentary because she wanted it to be true and objective. Now, fans like this ARE everywhere and do follow Gaga wherever she goes. So, if they want to show Gaga's real life, why would they take that out? If anything, they couldve blurred out her face for sure... but then maybe they wouldnt convey the same message because many people wouldnt know it was that exact same girl. Also: if that girl was following Gaga everywhere, she shouldnt feel bad about the backlash? I mean... she chooses to do that. Nobodt forces her. So if anything I guess it was a wake up call for her

Like the time stamp on Netflix, or at least an approximate time, because I can't remember seeing it (I only watched the documentary once yeah, I said it) and would like to check it out. But it is quite heart warming that she actually replied and showed that it’s really not a big deal and nobody should get dragged just because they called her ”mommy” ”mami” or what ever it was Free my mind, ARTPOP
