Guest
(CNN) - The Beverly Hills City Council voted to repeal its moratorium on any elective surgeries, including cosmetic procedures and plastic surgeries. Members voted 4-1 to remove restrictions put in place by the state to ensure more beds for coronavirus patients and to prepare hospitals for a surge of cases. While doctors will have the authority to decide if a procedure is medically necessary, the vote means cosmetic surgeries will now be permitted in the city of Beverly Hills. Councilmember John Mirisch, who voted against the decision, said it is absolutely "ridiculous," "absurd," and "offensive" to allow cosmetic surgeries at this time. "In the middle of a pandemic, nobody needs Botox," he told CNN. "To me, that's just kind of an obvious sort of thing." "We should have simply said, we will allow colonoscopies and tumor removals and angioplasties and heart valve replacements. We will permit those, we will not permit purely cosmetic surgery," Mirisch said. "The city had the opportunity to make that clarification, it actually never did." Guest
While working people are being mocked for protesting full on lockdowns, and their essential daily needs being taken away, Beverlly Hills voted to allow their residence to have botox and plastic surgery. Fantina 3,438
From movies, this seems like a very Beverly Hills thing to do. Until then, this is Elvira saying unpleasant dreams.

Do you even see who is leading the protests? They’re Trump loving crazies mixed in with your white nationalist terrorists (which is what they should be called). How exactly are they working people being mocked for having their essential needs taken away? Apparently safety isn’t a priority and generating profits for the greedy corporations is more important...but sure, let’s have 67,000+ confirmed deaths here in the US because the protests are more important than out healthcare system collapsing completely. As someone who has family working in the hospitals, do you think they enjoy seeing body after body being wheeled in and out because every new patient is sick with COVID-19? And as someone who’s had family get sick from this, do you think they enjoyed being hooked up to ventilators then have to go home with oxygen tanks? Yes they are Republicans who voted for Trump, and there is nothing wrong with that. Half the country voted for Trump, the other half voted for someone like Hilary Clinton. As for white nationalists, yes they were present but thats a way to mischaracterize the actual protestors. Their protest was a response to some states implementing an extreme full lockdown, and restrictions on daily essentials. Most states (even ones with alot of COVID-19 cases) does not have these kind of restrictions. Yes protestors are wrong, but none of them care about corporations, they care about keeping their jobs and healthcare which is linked to their jobs. Instead of directing your anger on the village idiot, you should direct your anger on corporations given safety nets while working people are told to accept the situation and lose everything. Don’t you dare tell me where to direct my anger because you have no clue what you’re talking about. You don’t think I’m equally annoyed with politicians for their responses? But you know everything about what’s happening here in the US so by all means continue to offer your expert opinion. I live here in Delaware and have family in NJ where there weren’t super strict lockdowns that you speak of yet we all had protests at the state capitals. So please tell me again how these people have legitimate cause to protest? Most of these people are asymptomatic carriers now putting others at risk whose immune systems may respond differently and they end up requiring hospitalization, so yeah I’ll be angry at your local village idiots and the politicians encouraging the piss-poor behavior. NewUsername 11,750
Plastic surgery is more than just rhinoplasty and breast implants and things like that though. For example getting a (cancerous) mole removed is also plastic surgery. The article also says this: He clarified that, "if a procedure is medically necessary and it is an essential surgery that does not include those that are purely cosmetic, it is allowed." "Why councilmember Mirisch thinks, or has tweeted, or has put out that all of a sudden people can get purely cosmetic surgeries is beyond me and my colleagues," Friedman told CNN. I hope it is indeed more this way and that people don't go/are not allowed to go like "oh, it's time for my nose job"

Just say it, you dont like the fact that a Middle Eastern person has an opinion on American politics and disagrees with you. No need to hide it because its coming out in a very passive aggressive way. Be honest about your hate like these Trump crazies you hate so much. Judging by your comment, im sure you have alot in common with them. Edit: @Mister G and I talked in PM and we are fine now. Sorry maybe I over reacted, but people here always bring up my nationality to shut me up. Sometimes I want to remove my country information to avoid this but I kept it because I shouldnt feel this way.

You’re sympathizing irresponsible behavior because your priorities are elsewhere. And I don’t appreciate being equated to those people. You don’t see me here comparing Middle Eastern people to stereotypes so please continue to be rude. I could care less because most of what you say comes off as stupidly ignorant and a lousy attempt to sound educated.
