My biggest fear is a lack of creativity.

Gaga releasing a dance oriented pop album was always going to be a "return to form" for her. Whether that form is Tf, tfm, btw, or ARTPOP is irrelevant; the past four years of her career has been a stripped back version of what Gaga got famous for; the sound, the politics, the image etc.

There is hype for this album, which can be a blessing and a curse.

From what we've seen and heard; it could be hit or miss and could rely on her past too much. Stupid Love is a bop, but for someone with over a decade on the industry, going from "I want you love, love love" to "I want your stupid love love love" might play against her.

While I love the Babylon snippet, rain on me and FW, knowing these could be super short tracks is worrying.

I don't really have any fears tbh, I'm looking forward to the album and I've accepted that the era won't be as exciting as it was gonna be for reasons out of everyone's control, which was the most depressing part about it.

I guess I hope that what we heard isn't the best of the best.

Why do people think its going to be basic? Stupid Love is far from basic, Ariana Grande in not a basic artist. Bloodpop is a great producer and his productions are not generic.

Nobody is doing sounds like what Stupid Love sounds like. She is not following trends at all, infact, she could even bring back 90's house trends :vegas:  even if you were looking for something even more edgy, Babylon sounds like its not that commercial. This album is going to be probably her most accessible album, but this does not mean its going to be basic or generic, or bland. And it certainly does not mean that it lacks creativity or that she lacks creativity.

She is doing exactly what she did in The Fame era; bringing sounds that aren't commercial, sticking them in a blender and making them accessible.

Its a 90s House influenced album, obviously some songs aren't going to have a fully written chorus... thats the nature of the genre. It doesn't mean that it lacks creativity or that its bland, and if you don't like it you can always just move on. But its so annoying seeing fans complain about not having a lyrical chorus... its not THAT big of a deal :saladga:

I do believe that this will be her best album yet

i'm worried that she's giving us a pop album purely because it's what we've been harassing her for. i'd love a pop album sure, but i'd much rather she gave us an album she was 1000% sure about instead of just making a pop album because it's what the demand is for

I sort of thought about this too, but I do think that Gaga made Chromatica because it's what she really feels like doing right now.

At this point in her career, she could've just continued making albums like Joanne or ASIB, and quite frankly, that might be better for her than her returning to the pop scene. Gaga's an interesting case, because interestingly enough, I feel like as time has gone on, people have accepted and, in some cases, have liked the "tone-down" Gaga more than the "weird, crazy, eclectic" Gaga.

I think Chromatica is what her creatice headspace is in now.

Besides, I think she's very creative now. The Paper Magazine photoshoot alone is some of her best work, not just recently, but of all time, in my opinion.

This was my thought EXACTLY. I almost feel as if she doesn't care that much about Chromotica. I mean She released Stupid Love and ever since then she barely acknowledged the existance of it while with Joanne, you could tell it was her passion, she cared so much for that album.

Yes there's a pandemic going on but before the massive outbreak with the leak happening weeks ahead, she also didn't really adress it.

And even while in a pandemic there are ways to express your love for your work. Look at Dua, she has done a few performances from home on shows like Jimmy Kimmel...if Dua can pull that off, Gaga can so too.

I don't know but right now I am simply NOT into this era.

I don't want to harm anyone with my opinion, I tried to put this into the most mature way I could without shading anyone.

The only thing that worries me is a lack of big choruses. But that happened on Joanne too somewhat (I’m so annoyed that DIC and JW were somewhat the poppiest songs on the album and they had drops rather than real choruses) but eh, I know I’ll still enjoy the hell out of it. Stupid Love’s prechorus makes up for it’s lack of chorus, and FW’s somewhat lackluster chorus doesn’t make it a bad song either. So we’ll see!

i understand, i'm just worried that the final result of the album will seem like a caricature, or feel like she's trying too hard to make a lady gaga album instead of trying to make the album that she wants to make

I really want Gaga to stick to the tribe thing. i really want a story line album and i love the tribes so much. i would also like to see her communicate with us again. this whole situation sucks because she was definitely going to.

Sorry but Ariana is the MOST basic artist out there right now. Her songs are rather safe and don't do justice to her vocals because it's safer to do so and her video's are ermmm even safer.

Don't get me wrong, I like her music occassionaly but she hasn't done anything legendary or iconic at all so far...she isn't very "daring".

I'm not afraid.

I already know that in the current context the sales figures will be disappointing and it will probably be her least sold album (apart from the remix album) unless of course they wait until September to release the album and the market will be back to normal.
I also know that if the album comes out soon, the promo will be disappointing.
My only fear may be that I won't like the album, but after the disappointment Joanne was for me, I'm prepared for a second disappointment.

Omg thanks!! Everyone keeps saying Ariana is next in line for the throne but... she’s not that iconic :rip:

Yes she has good songs and is a good pop star but... there’s literally nothing new about her. She’s the EMBODIMENT of basic white gays.

People need to stop confusing successful with original/iconic

I can't deny it, you did it VERY well Craig. :applause:

@SHALLOW  I don't think we should give our opinions based on a complete song and 2 LQ snippets. Look to the photoshoots that Gaga made for Chromatica, even making an album not too pretentious, she is creative.

and if you don't like Chromatica, complaining all the time won't do any good.
