Common ancestor lived in bats back in the 1970s (estimated). 

Difference is that SARS-2 is contagious while asymptomatic. MERS and SARS are only contagious when the person is already sick.

Well there are 250 000 confirmed deaths. The real number could be up to 3 times higher or more. 

It would be the worst pandemic since Avian flu. 

2009 flu pandemic had 17 000 confirmed deaths and an estimated 150 000 - 600 000 deaths.

Guys, the “normal” flu was also around November - February 

It might was just that, there’s no reason to worry about that now. Btw friends that had Corona detected, reported that every flu they had before was double as bad pain wise

I’m still sure I had it last year from late November to early February I had cold and flu symptoms that didn’t really waver for about 10 weeks and no medication could even ease my symptoms.

Also off topic my stepmum is a nurse and getting tested today because her patients and colleagues are getting it, and if it comes back positive our whole family has to isolate and I’m already losing my mind just with being at home, walking my dog and going to work, so wish me luck lol.

You'll only know with a serological test. I mean, you wouldn't know if you had covid-19 during that specific period, but at least you'd if you ever have encountered the virus already

Same case as these, and I never had the flu before (I'm 28). Flu medicine didn't work too well, so I passed 2 weeks in bed.

I wouldn't be surprised if we start hearing about this more.  I was asked to participate in an antibody study by one of the hospitals here.

This year has been the worst in my 13 years of teaching that I have ever seen sickness. Our school was so close to closing because of the flu (the school has to be closed if 25% of the population is out sick).  Then we had students getting sick with viral illnesses that weren't the flu.  They'd be out for a week, come back for maybe a day or so and be out another week. It was awful.  I had 7 students one day. I have a lot of parents swearing that's what their child had. That being said, I'm not sure that I believe it was that widespread, but I think it's worth looking into.
