Probably something she randomly whipped up at home and released it. She’s got a movie coming out in September and an album as well, so she probably just wanted to give something to her fans that was uplifting for the current climate and also to tide them over until her big releases. We blamed it on the lack of promotion (none in fact) and no playlisting whatsoever. Yesterday, however it received a lot of playlisting (New Music Friday mainly and pretty many other playlists) and promo got better a week ago too. The fact is, she is not uninteresting and has not been using the same song over and over again. I don't know if you have even listened to This Is Acting. The Greatest sounds nothing like Cheap Thrills, Alive sounds nothing like Space Between, Free The Animal sounds nothing like Dusk Till Dawn, Flames sounds nothing like Snowman and I could go on and on and on. And about that tweet: don't be so rude to someone that just tried to be positive. She donated a MILLION dollars to a corona related fund alone (let alone all the charity she has done in the recent past and before that) and released a song to donate all of the proceeds to corona related causes. I'm not sure if "yielding a particular result" is positive, but you are right. All she wanted to do was write music and by accident she got featured on a track that did really well (Titanium). She just wanted to be out of the spotlight. After that success, she just wrote for many artists and everything that got released as her own work, was just an extra for the fans. What's more, she has already proven herself and made enough money to live a comfortable life, so now she can just do whatever the heck she wants and she does exactly that.
