In the United States, they currently exist in Washington only. If you see them you must report that they exist. Do NOT attack them, if my memory from a documentary serves me, it can only take a few stings to kill a human (It could be more, but they do sting multiple times and they are very painful and venomous.); this includes a limited amount of time to get to a hospital to be safe, but still. If seen, please report them; they are very aggressive. They are extremely detrimental to the bee population, which in itself is already struggling. Not to mention, organizations are already planning on taking steps to help deal with them. Eradication is possible, but it does require a special way of going about it, such as in teams with special suits to burn the hives. It is important to realize that the increase in numbers of these hornets is a result of climate change. The numbers of Asian Giant Hornets has been increasing over the years because they love warm climates. Couple that with global warming, and you have more of them.
