I think TEOG not going #1 was just bad luck and if anything had more to do with the weak MV (back when mv really helped with a song's popularity), than with Judas being released before it. I also don't remember her performing the song much in America. Had it been the 2nd single it probably would have gone #1 cause it was riding off of BTW but in that case it is the order of the singles that are at fault, not Judas itself imo.

I would have loved scheibe as a single but for all we know she could have faced just as much backlash from that song as with Judas. I highly doubt radios would play a song called sh*t and Germany would be left shook and not necessarily in a good way.

Yeah, you got a point. However there's no denying Judas release did cause some damage to her image, which ultimately led to all the ARTPOP downfall. (Not saying Judas directly led to it, but I guess it helped)

And about Scheiße, I get you. I do think however it's better to maybe piss just one country than maybe all the Christians in the world :vegas:

Judas is perfect. The song,the single cover!!! Iconic! The music video,the costumes,the choreo. Who cares the charts? It was a mini era with Quality.

None of these singles actually caused backlash :huntyga: they're just poor single choices. Also, agree about almost everything: I love Judas and its video. The cover and the single release is a choice though.

Dirty Beautiful

I think it was because of two reasons;

Banking on the Red One sound that made her famous then trying to continue the “shock factor” she was also known for.
Nothing is more shocking (At the time for her) than releasing a song about Judas on a huge religious holiday.

Judas was released as a single because it's one of the best songs on the album. Period.

Scheiße for ARTPOP an

Scheiße does sound 'ravey' enough like many songs on AP. If it was the last single it could've indicated how the next album/era could've gone.

I'll WRECK U right Up...G.U.Y.!!!🌋💥
