RRR 3,996
TBH I don't even think about Bad Romance. I never listen to it. It's a total SKIP! I think I liked the demo version better. I think that we have to define what the metrics are in terms of success here. If success is determined by the public liking you, I would say that Bad Romance was probably the time period that people liked her the most (apart from now, actually). I would also argue that she was already maxed out on public opinion at this time due to her success with The Fame, but Bad Romance came and people were amazed that she had done it AGAIN. If success is determined by sales, she has had other singles sell more than Bad Romance. If success is determined by chart position, she has had higher chart positions than Bad Romance. If success is determined by awards, Shallow takes that. If success is determined by cultural impact and saving lives, Born This Way says hello. It is up to each person individually to determine what is more important.
julz 7,166
Yes. I think globally LG is known for BTW and Shallow. If Poker Face came after Bad Romance, then thats included. Bad Romance seems like the signature Gaga song and video, but it has been topped. The meat dress on the other hand...
hELXIG 43,042
Bad Romance is clearly a top so I doubt it! I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
Smother Em Eh 7,131
I think she kinda did with DITD, Monster, BTW, Scheibe. BR is still legendary though no doubt. Although the video is amazing, I would say Applause & G.U.Y give it a run for it’s money. Get Applause & G.U.Y to 1B views!
GagaUnderYou 4,992
For me Judas & Venus topped BR.
I LOVE GGD 1,247
In terms of cultural impact I don't think she's has reached that level again even with such hits like Born This Way and Shallow more recently. Shallow definitely cannot be denied its throne, however the pop ballad can't be compared to the amount of impact Bad Romance had.
ryansamonster 1,724
She may have topped BR musically or critically or whatever, but I think it remains her most recognized song. BTW is important for its cultural influence that it had and the lives it saved. JD + PF are huge iconic hits, but there’s something about Bad Romance that everyone knows like “This is ****in’ Lady Gaga!!” Lets not get started on the MV, that was a phenomenon upon release and still remains high on her videography. DiskoBaby 1,929
Shallow is very close. It's her most streamed song on Spotify a d and still out streaming Stupid Love, it won an Oscar, and when you combine the official video and Oscar performance on YouTube it already exceeded Bad Romance videos in just over a year. It actually went number one and saved her career. It's also very palatable as in people of all demographics can appreciate it. I would actually compare Shallow to Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You and Celine Dion's My Heart Will Go On.

Guest
In term if videography, she topped it with GUY, MTN, BTW and Telephone. In term of music, ScheiBe may be the only song, almost as iconic as BR, sadly it didn’t hace the promo it deserved even if it’s fans’ favorite

Reidstar 321
She has topped it time and time again, but it's an early defining song from the beginning(ish) of her career that took her to the next level. But I would argue Born This Way topped it, Applause topped it, and then Shallow MOUNTAIN topped it, as far as notoriety goes. It was smart to close the superbowl with it because it's an epic closer and early GP favorite but it doesn't mean she has to perform it forever! She's a free bitch
