It can go either way. We can have it in 6 months or 4 years or never. We dont know.

The most probable and realistic outcome will be 6 months to a year. Like all coronaviruses and respiratory illnesses this will mutate. Here, is where influenza  FINALLY has an accurate comparison for worst case scenario: people will probably need a Coronavirus shot yearly, just like a flu shot. It might not even need to be yearly, as illnesses like bacterial pneumonia shots are recommended every 5 years i believe. The virus will mutate and the shot will have to be adjusted yearly, just like the flu shot.

Sure it would be higher if there was no shutdown, but we’re not densely populated, not very many people use public transportation, etc. We’re already pretty distanced and wouldn’t have had a massive outbreak. The state as a whole is well past our peak, and even sent hundreds of ventilators to NY because we don’t need them and never hit hospital capacity anywhere. Our governor is going to extend restrictions next week when the current ones end, which is stupid. We need to start gradually opening things back up

Yea that's probably not gonna happen unless the close down the boarders of you state from the rest of the country. I don't think governors has the power to close off the boarders of their state. I could be wrong. But until then, as long as the boarders are open and anyone can enter and exit, it's better to be safe. What's your state numbers in total (overall population and # of cases)?

Politically correct politicians who don’t heed the mandates they set forth for everyone else: “SoCIAl DiStaNcING, FlAttEn tHe CuRVE”

— People while losing every single freedom they have while being caged like zoo animals: “Yes your highnesses”

Musk: Genuine genius who revolutionized commercial space flight, invented the first internet banking system (PayPal), and champion of the next age of travel: “This needs to stop”

— People: “HES AN IDIOT”

The US never had a steady lockdown at the national level. Trump made social distancing a national recommendation and the CDC recommended the use of face coverings, but that was it. Everything was left to the discretion of each state’s governor, and some states never even enforced a stay-at-home order. Embarrassing that we have the highest confirmed case count and death count but hey we gotta win at something even if it’s losing lives right :fail:

As far as the comments about a vaccine, I have a strong feeling a vaccine will be made available relatively soon...but at a price because we all know it’s a competition and it’s going to be distributed by the highest bidder. If your health insurance will cover it, great but for people who have horrible coverage or none at all they’ll lose out even more.

It depends who will make the vaccine. If a company from UK will make it, people from UK will be the first ones to get it.

There are states that are reopening, so it doesn’t have to do with being able to close borders

Im in Washington and we have a total population of about 7.6M, and about 13k cases. Almost all of those cases are in King/Snohomish/Pierce counties (Seattle/Everett/Tacoma—so basically only one big metropolitan area) The rest of the state is a completely different world

Your projection is realistic, but another 6 - 12 months of lockdowns will destroy entire countries.

Okay.... It's just a week again. Hopefully everything starts getting back to somewhat normal.

It’s not just a week lol. The current restrictions are supposed to be done on May 4, but Inslee has already said we won’t be reopening then. There just hasn’t been a formal announcement of an extension and how long

We may have already destroyed America in the name of a virus that has a better than 98 percent survival rate. 20 percent unemployment is going to spike crime, mental illness related risks such as depression, and possibly a hunger pandemic. But hey, we sure did flatten the other curve... (actually we have no ****ing clue- absolutely no idea as to whether or not this has been effective since the actual number of cases is virtually impossible to track and COVID-19 is being wrongly designated as the cause of many deaths reported).

Exactly! And here in California we were told to stay home to “flatten the curve” now our Governor is saying that Stay At Home order won’t be lifted until a vaccine or a cure. Um what??! That’s NOT what we all signed up for.

I totally agree with u, but it is clear that politicians wont reopen until the support for reopening wont increase.
