Tbh at this time she was overworked and tired (and probably some illicit substances were in the equation as well) so I wouldn’t be surprised if she dreamed of it and thought it was real

She was on tour for like 3 years straight and finally making money since the first version of The Monster Ball she paid with a lot of her own money WHILE recording such a significant album on the road in her tour bus sometimes.

But I am bias because I think BTW is her best album and as far as comparing her work, I don't think she'll ever be able to top it for me. As much as I enjoy all of her albums.

I don't think she was lying. I remember that around that time it came out that it was Madonna's team that approved of the song not Madonna herself and Madonna went about correcting Gaga in a bitchy way.
