WildAmerican 13,672
While I wish we had a system that allowed for third parties like the UK, in the US we simply do not on the presidential level. Thus, all third party runs are quixotic affairs, who usually spoiler the election. (Jill Stein and Gary Johnson in 2016 caused Trump to win).

I guess Hillary being an evil warmonger has nothing to do with Trump winning in 2016 now he is going to win again but this time because of a senile rapist (also warmonger). (Jill Stein and Gary Johnson in 2016 caused Trump to win). Democrats have been using this excuse to deflect blame from weak candidates for decades. Voting for a third party isn't a vote for any other candidate. By that logic, choosing a third party candidate would be a vote for both Biden and Trump. Further, it's silly to think that Gary Johnson's voters would choose Hillary over Trump, and the Green party is generally very antagonistic towards the DNC and Democratic establishment. If Democrats want more engagement from their party (even considering that yes, Hillary did win the popular vote) then they need better candidates. CommonWhiteGirl 1,039
He's been getting a lot of negative responses on social media so I don't really think he's going to make a big impact on the race as a whole. Also, I think it's dumb to blame any third party candidate for "stealing" votes from the Dems. If people vote third party they weren't going to vote for Biden or donald anyway so it's pointless and ignorant to believe otherwise.

Just like Hillary failed to overcome vast negative coverage and sexism. Better candidates and better campaigns that win are possible. We all have more work to do to get these people across the finish line if we want a progressive future. But I'm not going to blame the DNC and some big media conspiracy. There's a reason this **** happens. You propose big changes, great. love that. If you then have shitty messaging, you lose the narrative, and you alienate voters....you lose.
