And it just makes me sad because for someone who’s preaching kindness, she’s making it hard to trust her and hard to be excited for this era when her business is holding on to our money from albums, merch, and tour tickets and giving us no answers. I really wish this was fun for me but this is all so exhausting and depressing. you don't think it's probably also exhausting for an artist who had a fully fleshed out album era planned then had to shift gears last minute while getting ripped apart by fans. it's reasonable to be disappointed but it's not like she's enjoying people being upset, she's probably trying to rush things together with her label as to what the new direction is. How can fans be disappointed when she literally made no promise of a new date yet...she's made no promises and everything is most likely coming this month. i'm sorry you're having a rough time though, and i am to we'll get through it just one day at a time

She’s allowed to say “I love you” on Instagram, and if the fan base collapsed because it was interpreted that it meant anything, that isn’t her fault. I’m gonna pushback slightly and say they kind of are? There is a responsibility of branding and marketing towards your target audience, putting Gaga in a positive spotlight and establishing trust. I’d agree with you that if her post was just, “I love you” with nothing else I’d be like oh cute and move on. But the phrase You’re My Favorite with it’s imagery along with the caption, the social media changes, and the timing of the post seemed different than her typical cadence of posts. I wouldn't expect something like: CHROMATICA out May 22. I would expect her to just release it by surprise or announce it just a few days before. And that’s exactly what I thought this was! Haha oh well we will see.

And haven’t other major artists cancelled or postponed their tours and provided new dates for their rescheduled albums?

Dont mind Joey, he's going through it rn. I actually think this would have been such a cool idea to reveal the tracklist and build hype. Starting with track 3. Stupid Love and then expanding further and further. Dang. 3 points in and ready for more

A surprise album might perform better in search engine rankings against the COVID-19 content that is dominating news and media over traditional promotion. You might be able to save on expenses using promo after the album release and for music that does the best organically. Streaming is down and the music industry is hemorrhaging money so they have to be mindful of their spend.
