We are guaranteed capital. We will spend the money. We will stream. Regardless. They are considering the general public, who won't. Spotify streams are down. People are not listening to music as much. They aren't going on Target runs. They are staying inside and playing video games, or watching TV / Netflix binging. The numbers in first quarter reports reflect that. Netflix announced the biggest increase in subscriptions ever. World of Warcraft is thriving. So as someone who uses statistics everyday I don’t think there’s a real correlation with streaming and COVID yet. The Weeknd promoted his album well and got massive streams. We have three huge fanbases attracted to this album, and one of the reasons people speculate streaming is down is because they listened on the way to work. If Gaga releases her album in a month from now, I don’t see any issues with streaming or sales and covid being a factor. Especially because more and more jobs are reopening and life will drastically change further in a month. So if the album does poorly with streams, It’ll be because they didn’t promote properly. And there’s also the fear of physicals not being printed. But at this point, with 3 months of pre-orders I’d say that at least 70% of people who plan to get a physical copy already pre-ordered it. And targets are remaining open so I have to imagine they’d find a way to produce physicals for Target at least since they have the bonus track version. She respects her body and this is a reason why all the things she did after ARTPOP were very focused. When she did C2C, she made it a whole moment. When she did AHS, it was a fully realized Era (even down to the Looks). When she worked on Joanne and during it’s promo cycle - it was a full concept being presented. When she did the Superbowl, JWT and ASIB - it all was allowed to have it’s own full moment. This is her new way of working - giving something its full attention. You can see, how she struggled with filming AHS while making Joanne - It’s hard for her to lose that routine now. I get why she is so silent about Chromatica right now (because it’s not going according to plan and it’ll probably overlap with her filming that Gucci Movie if she delays it further) - but this is where her Team needs to be here for her. They need to probably free her from an anxious state (she is known for spiraling when it comes to that) and help her build herself up and start doing something. Its all to do with money, and not really about her fans thoughts or feelings, or even the general publics thoughts and feelings right now. They want to come out and make sure Chromatica is one of the best selling albums of the year. So the fans thoughts/feelings is completely disregarded. Happy to be wrong tho Cases are expected to be on a reasonable decline by then though. So there might be some promo opportunities and the beginning phases of things reopening normally. But the situation does change daily. It's an understandable date when you consider the potential that could be there things to start to be done "normally" and slowly build momentum. I'm thinking about Pink Floyd's album The Wall, there's Another Brick in The Wall part. 1, 2 & 3, part 2 being the cult song everybody knows, and the other ones being variation of it, part 1 is a slow / dreamy version, and part 3 is a harder / angrier one.
