Look- Biden was NOT my choice, and yes, he has some problematic things in his resume, some more severe than others (some very severe), but a presidency is much bigger than a president. His VP pick, his cabinet, supreme court justices, having ACTUAL SCIENTISTS in key positions again, putting back programs that were completely axed from a nightmare presidency this run, and SO MUCH MORE. Is Biden what progressives wanted? No. Are we going to get there ANY faster if this trump train completely destroys us? NO. It's literally going to take YEARS to even clean up this economy now, the worst hasnt even happened yet. 

Not to mention he wasn't even sleeping there anyways, so the propaganda is already starting. Vote blue.

The point is, "exposing" politicians for falling asleep publicly is a very tiered trope. They did this to Obama, Hillary, Trump, Angela Merkel, literally everyone.

Pick any politician, google their name with "sleeping," and you are sure to find people using videos of them falling asleep in public to imply they aren't fit for office, when in reality, it's just a normal human moment.

That's what this thread is.

 

Donald Trump is a lazy, unhealthy, senior citizen, who speaks in incoherent sentences, and is sustained on a diet of fast food. Yet, because of his position of power, and the people he surrounds himself by, he has been able to accomplish many things I'm sure you both are unhappy with.

The narrative that people keep pushing that says a presidential candidate has to be spry, articulate, young and in great shape to accomplish something is just not true. We are living through evidence of that.

 

If you have issues with Biden, that's fine. Him falling asleep shouldn't be one of them.

Absolutely. I always did care about politics, but watching Trump's campaign in 2016 leading up to his eventual election woke something up inside of me that I didn't know existed. The complete fear and shock that I felt that night is still unparalleled and everything since then has been such a sh!t show. I thought that would be the turning point for america. But now, I think instead that Trump's re-election will be. If we suffer another four years of his crap, there will be a whole new generation of voters and people will be more fed up with our government then ever before.

That is a decent point. I can only hope that if we have to deal with Biden we at least get a decent VP. I'm still not sure I can see it being enough to get him elected though. I've never met a single person who genuinely likes him - the majority of his supporters seem to only choose him because of the "elect-ability" argument.

it's literally all that gives me hope. Yes the world will suffer with Trump another 4 years but damn will the revenge taste sweet! (ironically our idea of revenge is actually going to benefit the Trump supporters too lol...they just won't know it at first I guess ). Let's hope enough ppl are as ignited as you in America. As someone living outside the country I sometimes lose hope but then I remind myself of the huge support other candidates got and it boosts my moral right back up. America isn't all but lost. There's still hope and it will manifest itself by the next election cycle! Let's just hope a more viable candidate present him/herself/themself.

I agree with everything except one thing, young people are NOT fired up politically, if they were, youth turnout (for all candidates, not just the one with a platform dedicated to them) wouldve been up, yet it went down..

Careful with the effects of being a vocal, loud minority, seeing young people be very vocal about a candidate online doesnt mean much of it wont translate to votes.

Wake up. If trump wins again, supreme court will be conservative for 30 years. You wont have any revenge in 4 years.

And again you completely disregard that these people were working. Biden is not. He's at home doing nothing. How hard is it to sit in front a camera for an hour when you're well rested? It's a bad look. 

And this sleeping thing isn't really a problem. You're right. It's just the topic of the thread. That's why we are discussing it. 

My issues with Biden is that he stands for nothing progressive and by all definitions is nothing but a corporate puppet. Just look at his recent leaked document about his proposed cabinet and you'll see the type of people he wants advising him. It's all about keeping the status quo in tact and not providing any solutions for Americans.

His supporters on this site act like he has done nothing wrong and we shouldnt be talking about the rape allegations just because its against a Democrat. That's hypocrisy. I guess I'm also a hypocrite too since Bernie has praised dictators in the past as well, but I don't deny he was wrong. Biden supporters on the other hand just ignore Biden’s flaws. 

They also like to talk about Bernie's heart surgery but failed to acknowledge that Biden had two aneurysms and had to undergo surgery as well. It's the hypocrisy of Biden supporters I can't stand. It almost as if we should just shut up and vote blue for voting blue sakes and not critisize the person we're voting for. He is the nominee now. He will be critisized whether people likes it or not. 

Let's just hope Biden picks a good VP because that's something that could really help the democrats win in Nov.

i mean joe is a weak candidate sure and i have my doubts that he can win too especially with this metoo issue hanging over his head. but at the same time, i think it's safe to say that a progressive candidate (while definitely better in policy) definitely wouldn't have won cause none of them could even win the primary so? 

fact is, US isn't ready to move that far left. we got lucky with obama and he moved the line over, and now look what happened, people are pushing back big time cause they don't like it. 

(and pls don't @me about obama being a centrist, i know. but in 2008, he was pretty progressive in terms of the politics at the time, and no matter where he stands on the spectrum, it's simply true that he moved the country more to the left during his time as pres.)
