Mariah Carey's 'E=MC²' tops US iTunes album chart, 12 yrs after its release

On April 15, 2008, Mariah Carey released E=MC², her eleventh studio album. The followup to 2005's career-revitalizing The Emancipation of Mimi, the album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with sales of 463,000 copies and yielded Carey's 18th Hot 100 chart topper, the slinky "Touch My Body."
 

Now, it's returned to the top of the US iTunes album chart thanks to an online #JusticeForE=MC2 campaign. (The fact that it's currently on sale for $4.99 doesn't hurt.) Though it received positive reviews from critics, E=MC² is considered one of the Mariah's most underrated albums by fans and the victim of poor single choices.

Before this album, she released her comeback album "The Emancipation of Mimi". She said she wanted it to be a continuation of it..
