Trump may have threw it out into the universe but was quick to try and save his own back saying it was "sarcasm", in other words... people of the world, don't do it "I'm not a doctor". He didn't even explicitly tell people to ingest/inject disinfectant. He was saying how he was speaking to a doctor and asking her if it was possible that could use UV light in some way in a treatment to get rid of coronavirus and that could be looked into and TESTED (while looking directly at the doctor). Also disinfectant, it kills the virus very quickly, could you use a treatment that does something like that by injection so it basically cleans inside the body and kills the virus? He was asking questions himself not instructing people to do it at home.

I personally don't think it's too much to expect off people to use their brains, gullibility doesn't even come into it. It's a well known thing that drinking cleaning fluids is very dangerous and can kill you,  it's one of the main reasons we don't serve bleach at a bar.  People need to critically think about the actual source they get their information from, the guy is mocked globally for his ridiculous statements (and rightly so) and he's not in the least bit qualified to be giving medical advice. He keeps saying over and over again "I don't know, I'm not a doctor", take notes. I don't believe he was even trying to give medical advice from what i saw, he was throwing questions out there more than anything.  But who the heck is seriously trusting this guy and not the doctors next to him shaking their head and giving him odd looks anyway?

As i said i don't like the guy but these people poisoning themselves need to take accountability for their actions. It's like the Tide Pod challenge all over again, there's just some very dumb people out there.

Just some insight from a perspective you may not see in your lives:

Normal people do strange things in stressed times. I worked with cancer patients for over a decade and I have heard and seen it all. One of the more popular "treatments" for cancer, for people who did not want to do traditional treatments, was to drink a half a glass of hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol a day. They did this EVERY DAY because some bonkers website or holistic guru told them it would work to disinfect their insides and wipe the cancer away. I would tell them it was poisonous and could eventually kill them, but they were so skeptical of the status quo and so trusting in whatever their homeopathic source was, they refused. Same goes for people going after other crazy homeopathic treatments (coffee enemas, fruit overloads in Mexico, etc.)

It's hard for you to realize it, but these are normal people that have normal jobs-they pass you in the street. You probably know them. It's easy to think of the people injecting bleach or drinking Lysol as backwards hillbillies or something, but trust me, they are just scared and looking to whomever they trust for a nugget of helpfulness. This doesn't make it any less of a bad idea or any less terrible, I just wanted to put it into perspective when you guys say things like "even a 5 year old knows not to do that" because it's not true.  Asked them a year ago they'd tell you they'd never drink peroxide or inject Lysol; ask them when they have cancer or covid19, and their answers would be drastically different. 

The level of fragility of people is one reason leaders should carry themselves with intellect and respect. They should be well spoken and to the point. Not rambling nonsensical, "out-loud thinkers". It's stupid. It's dangerous. It's totally uncalled for. It's unacceptable.
