These increases were around the time that our current President, word for word, suggested to ingest disinfectants and cleaners as they kill the virus. Because a lot of people lack proper education because our public infrastructure is failing, they don't know how viruses work or that this can be dangerous to them. It isn't one person's fault for following the leader of their nation because to them their leader is doing their job - telling the country what to do. Is not even about education is basic survival instinct. Some animals for example cats would avoid drinking something if its smell as strong as bleach and they dont even know that the liquid is dangerous.
