I guess it's to show that Corona death cases are highly inflated, because the counting methods are not standardized and often not that scientific. And it's not only the case in California, but pretty much all over the world.

Here are the CDC's guidelines:

And a relevant paragraph from same:

“In cases where a definite diagnosis of COVID–19 cannot be made, but it is suspected or likely (e.g., the circumstances are compelling within a reasonable degree of certainty), it is acceptable to report COVID–19 on a death certificate as “probable” or “presumed.” In these instances, certifiers should use their best clinical judgement in determining if a COVID–19 infection was likely. However, please note that testing for COVID–19 should be conducted whenever possible.”

This isn't materially different from how you might count flu deaths, for instance. Not every person who is counted as a flu death is going to have a test that proves it. 

 

The whole "car accident deaths" thing seems to have gained traction much like the "I have cousin who knows a guy in the National Guard and they locking us down soon, martial low!" My suspicion is that this, too, is carefully crafted misinformation. 

It's much more likely that deaths are being undercounted.

Yea, but it's also this users goal to downplay any type of news regarding the coronavirus.

"I guess it's to show that Corona death cases are highly inflated" That's the goal of this thread. To convince you that this isn't a big deal. We already know that the cases are inflated due to the lack of testing, but that doesn't mean we can't worry about the health and safety of people. We will probably pass 100k deaths of the virus this year alone. You shouldn't be scared, but it's a fact. 

Additionally, at the same time many of the dead haven't even been tested for the virus. Again, due to the lack of testing. Goes both ways. Many people die of complications aggravated by the flu but not by the flu alone. But you wouldn't see the poster mentioning inflated flu deaths here because they'd never care if COVID-19 wasn't around...

So it's my fault that a situation like this happened? 

No one has said this isnt serious, but I fail to see where is the problem if we ask for transparency regarding covid deaths?

Why is so hard to wait for a positive test?

And the case in the article had a covid test. That's not the problem. This example shows how easy a death is considered a covid death. 

At the moment, there is zero proof that the deaths are undercounted or overcounted.
