UK : 60000 cancer patients could die because lack of treatment or diagnosis

I can understand why initially some treatments were stopped, the amount of reports I’ve seen of people going into general hospitals and A&E for what would normally be ‘routine’ treatments/care and just not coming home to their families because they’ve contracted COVID-19 from the hospital and later died. Must be heartbreaking for the families.
 

But I think maybe it’s time to get COVID patients transferred to the NHS Nightingale hospitals so  there’s less risk of that happening and people who need routine treatment can seek it. Get general hospitals and A&E back to doing what they did pre-COVID because people are scared to enter those places out of fear they won’t go home to their families.

That can only happen when the number of hospitalization goes down (and I dont know if that's the case in the UK)

In belgium, plans are being made to announce a 'corona' hospital in every province where people should go to, so that the other hospitals can continue functioning, and I honestly support that idea

There should be more discussions about what cases should be hospitalized. It's kinda stupid that in some places people with mild or no symptoms are still treated in hospitals, considering that for some the treatment is regular medicine used for the flu.

In the US, they only admit you if you need oxygen. They aren’t admitting people to give them Tylenol. Are they doing that in the UK?
