I feel like Sine may have a dance aspect to it though. I always a associate a "sine wave" with a "sine bass" sound, so, I dunno. I mean she purposefully didn't call it "Sign From Above" 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

...I’m not? He didn’t diss her. He said this around ARTPOP-Joanne time, I recall. He and Tony have both expressed this viewpoint before which makes sense given where they’re both at musically. Both have said that they wished she would just do something more straight vocally oriented. It was never said in a super mean or critical way. They never said her music was garbage (well, Elton sort of dissed AP), just that they wished she’d do something simpler.

we even posted it on the homepage, I recall. Breathe Heavy may not be super reliable but their source is literally an interview where he said it. He wanted her to make a simple record.

I feel like this album will be similar to ARTPOP and Born This Way. She will have a song that ballad-esque but perform them live as ballads.
