Blade: "Chromatica promo was only 2nd to BTW"

Anyways here are my opinions on the whole situation.

Gaga obviously had a LOT planned. Now she's stuck in a tough spot because if she were to just release the album like normal, there would be barely any promo compared to what she had planned. Like I feel like her and her label are trying to make it up to us, and find a date that she can execute both the album drop AND lots of promo BEFOREHAND, so the album drop is like an EVENT.

Right now its best to stay radio silent and focus on other matters since there is not much she can do. While she COULD release the album, I think in the long run it will be worth it if we wait and experience the promo that she had originally planned. Plus, I genuinely think that this time it isn't about her making US happy but rather her getting the general public's interest, and the only way to do that is through promo. The only issue is we don't know how long it will be, but on the bright side, things should be opening up in the next 2 months and today the first vaccines have gone into testing (80% success rate).

Hopefully she is able to postpone the promo she had planned and "revamp" the album release plan which is what I assume her and her label are doing. I.E. spreading out the single releases so that we can still be fed and recieve adequate promotion for the album, and hopefully by the time the country opens up again she can promote it with good timing.

Was Coachella totally cancelled? Last I heard it was just pushed back but that was a bit ago.

They just need time to revise the promo schedule. Things are really uncertain atm. One day it's "hey everything's going to be fine by Fall!" The next it's "CLOSE EVERYTHING DOWN UNTIL 2022!"

At this point I'm just praying this album doesn't leak and she's able to release it when they have a revised plan together.

If it still happens then that's cool but in term of timing, the era will be over by then. They will plans other promos, of course, but as this point we just have to accept THE era that could have been is dead.

It's very frustrating to see people blaming Gaga for waiting so long for the album. If she put it out earlier without perfecting it to her liking or without that much promotion planned, fans would still bash her. It's easy to whine when we don't know what going on behind the scenes. Also, her team is somehow have to calculate the risk of an unprecedented pandemic that paralyzes the whole world?

So like you, I just hope the rollout for music videos and the album isn't messy.

I think this will go down as one of the greatest tragedies in the 2020s in Gaga-related history books. I mean, we begged for a new solo album for years and when Chromatica finally was about to arrive literal weeks away, her evil step-sister Coronatica came around the corner and slapped us all in the face :duck:

I was gonna reply but this was my thoughts exactly, its really sad but there's not much anyone can do. I just hope to GOD she somehow finds a way to serve us good promo and performances and make this era iconic once the virus is all over :/

Literally. Every time I think about Coronamatica situation I just get so sad. Like... this couldve been THE ERA. We could've got CONSTANT promo from march till now and the album drop wouldve been SUCH an event.

Imagine how she feels though.

She obviously cared a LOT about this album. The promo was unlike anything we’ve seen in recent years for SL. And in the month before COVID we got FED - music video, interview, paper magazine all in like 2 weeks.

I think her label is deciding what to do because frankly it wouldn’t make any sense to do all the promotion AFTER the album release. Like there should be tons of buzz then BAM! Drop the album.

I can tell she was excited to promote the album and talk about it but with all these leaks I would imagine her label and team would just realize it's KILLING the hype of the album when everything is leaking...LQ demo snippets of songs, the cover, the tracklist...all of which she said she didn't wanna reveal just yet for hype but look what happened...impatient hackers clearly have gotten their hands on stuff and I think Gaga is letting her pop comeback album turn to sour candy...no shade lol

I agree with everything you said

But as for this bit, I'm not really too broken up about "what could have been".

Single choices could have been better for BTW but that album is still iconic.

The ARTPOP era could have been less messy but that album is still iconic.

Chromatica could have gone off without a hitch if it weren't for a literal global pandemic but I know the album will still be iconic.

No use crying over spilled milk  and certainly no use moaning at/about the person whose milk it was. Just grab some paper towels, clean it up, and poor ha another glass :vegas:

This has been my daily heavy handed metaphor :vegas:

I have faith in Gaga that this era will not only come when she's ready but it'll slay us all :bradley:

This is the one thing that is keeping me going like...  hopefully she finds the resources to deliver some moments this era.  And who knows maybe the promo for this era couldve killed her career and we dodged a bullet :ally:

Gaga's not "letting" anything happen. She's being stolen from and having HER work be given out without permission. Don't blame the victim :nails:

She 100% has more patience than I do. If I were her I'd just drop the album, tweet a link to the store and streaming, and immediately retire for a good 10 years to have a family. No tour, no performances, nothing after that.

"Enjoy the album that you tried to steal from me. Later, rats :fthis:"

But she doesn't give up that easy :bradley:

Born This Way simply had a bunch of front loaded promo (which was still cool don't get me wrong), but honestly, The Fame had the most promo.

I mean, it had A LOT of promo prior to release but I still remember the hundreds of You & I and Marry The Night performances. I would say, it constantly had big promo.

It’s really a shame because they could easily fix this situation by dropping an album trailer Monday, announce the date, and release a promo single Friday, ROM two weeks later, and album 5/29. Forget the remix. It’s superfluous at this point.  And in the middle do some interviews, live streams, talk show call-ins/web cams, and the album would probably get the same amount of hype/sales given this past week and the overload on hype that hit twitter. People know it’s coming and they’re excited. The f**** Seoul embassy is tweeting about it for f*** sake. The fact that this is so fixable is what’s infuriating. Get past the inability to perform right now for the time being and adapt. :saladga:

Stupid Love got a whole lot of promotion and the GP still said no.

Obviously this would have helped the album, but there's nothing more they could have done for the lead single.
