For anyone who hasnt seen Super Mario Bros the movie, which came out in 1993 you haven’t missed much. It’s pretty much a bad B movie. Not sure how it even got made. BUT the iconography from that movie reminds me so much of what Gaga has shown us so far of Chromatica. I’ve mentioned this a while back but what I get from the album cover is that Gaga is stuck in between two worlds. Kindness punks live in the sewers of the city of Chromatica. They are a bright light living in a dark world. And Gaga wants to bring the different groups together to become a united race. Keep in mind, in SMB the main protagonists are plumbers who travel in the sewer to protect the princess. Below is a link to some pre production work for SMB and I could easily see the city looking like what is in the movie. if she is slightly channeling this movie I would love to see the campiness of it come out in her videos! TLDR: Gaga is an Italian who likes pizza, and fights for kindness in the sewer.
