It actually sounds very nostalgic and 90s inspired.

Too many people here with moral superiority complex.

Gaga has never done this type of music before. Like at all. You can't compare this to past works. There will be great lyrics on Chromatica, but not EVERY single song needs to be 10/10 in terms of lyrics. You mention ARTPOP, and that has some of Gaga's worst lyrics on there...

A fully written chorus would take away the element of the instrumental. Something simple to sing along with, like one or two lines is NORMAL for dance/house music. Its the instrumental thats supposed to grab you and make you wanna dance, the lyrics entice you.

Stupid Love lyrically is okay, its not that bad. Its like a giant hug from Gaga, she just wants our stupid love! Its fine!

If you don't like this type of music, fine. But its annoying seeing fans get their hopes up for deep, meaningful lyrics, and a fully written chorus on a house track thats clearly meant to be danced to... then when the thing comes y'all trash it and call it basic when its far from it.

Honestly i don’t even want deep lyrics, i want interesting lyrics which ARTPOP clearly had :ohwell: “slap honey on a young pancake” says hi

Hope Gags can serve 90's slayage like Inner City, La Bouche, Zombie Nation:giveup:

I'd die for a Kernkraft 400 sample.

Stupid Love's lyrics are pretty interesting compared to other Gaga tracks like J&D, Donatella, Fashion of His Love.... :ohwell:

La Bouche have the best powerful choruses. I’d love for Gaga to give us that type of energy and vocals.

Oh nooooooo, I hope that was an early version or something cuz it's sounding real bad :bradley:

And I thought SL sounded like the barest minimum of effort was put into it, I was so wrong :bradley:

I mean it still sounds like that but I didn't think they'd go even further :bradley:

It's a joke! When you give me that look, it's a joke!

Where are y’all getting 90’s house music from? I’m getting “Bloodpop, create me a beat that’s influenced by 2014 Calvin Harris”.

because when I think of 90s house, I think of this godly sound:

I don't think that's house music tbh? This just sounds like electronic music to me (not house specifically, I guess I don't know what exactly, trance maybe?).

I'm not an expert at all, but when I think of 90s house mixed with pop, I think of:

And ROM does sound similar to those in many ways!

EDIT: Just saw your answer to another comment above. You seem more knowledgeable than me on the matter so I trust you on that, but is it possible that we're just not thinking of the same type of house then?

Progressive house is literally under house music. And trance? I think you need a refresher on trance music. Trance music has a much more ethereal sound  and much more synth lead heavy.

The point is, what we’re being served is not 90s house. It’s literally a Calvin Harris imitation. I think Gaga has so much more potential if she actually drew influences from a lot of true 90s house, minor chord led, prominent bassline tracks. We’ll just have to see when the full thing drops in hq as well as the album.
