One thing we need to remember is that the message can come across as over done and like she's saying the same old thing over and over but we see everything she does. Of course it's going to grow old fast for us. She needs to keep repeating it to make sure more people get the message and it spreads around.

Exactly!!!! Don't stalk a celeb 24/7 and then get mad when you don't get new content 🙄

I feel like when she's talking about kindness. Seems like talking to us as in we're kids. :billie:

I believe that is the very part that makes people turned off. And why some people here called her preachy. Not the talk about kindness in itself.

Well, it's kinda double:
On one hand, she has to repeat it a lot to get her point across (in as many ways and in as many media possible) and to have it make an impact. On the other hand, repeating it a lot can come over a bit cringy for some.

Gaga also loves hyperboles/exaggerating, because of being an artist, but also definitely because of being American.

Personally, I have no problem with neither the message and the frequency and way of her spreading it.
I think fans calling her "omg, mommy" during BTW era, after she declared herself Mother Monster, was way worse and off-turning.

I support her 100% but I admit HL is distracting lol

The kindness punk, I think that's the place that she's in right now. It's who she is, what she feels, and I embrace it fully. Proud of her.

Get the pinot ready, because it's turtle time.

Gaga - spread love and be kind.

Monsters - I'm tired of the kindness ****

Monsters - why does she hates us?

threads about how gaga isn't authentic enough (basically what this is) always make me laugh because her life's work is about fame & parasocial relationships and here y'all are demanding more from her.

I mean Gaga stands for equality etc so kindness is important, but Kindness Punks makes me cringe so much sounds like some sort of baby superheroes :toofunny:

Naw but I'm turned off by the fans' resistance to her message.

I feel like Gaga is almost begging you guys to be kind and you're like this -

Constant, pure positivity is always going to seem cringey to some. That's why it's important to press on so that it can eventually become the norm.

It's revisionist history to act like her "love yourself" mantra of TFM/BTW wasn't thought of as cringey at the time, by a lot of fans. Especially as we got deeper into the BTW era, and many were sick of it. She had been repeating to love yourself constantly for 2-3 years and many fans complained it was too much, too forced, getting old, lame etc. But you know what? In 2020 it's remembered in a different way. In a positive way.

Maybe you need her messaging more than you think.
