The intonation and eye contact say it allll

Even if it's something she prepared and wrote beforehand so what? Does it mean she's fake? No she just wanted it to prepare so that it's professional and not all over the place, it's very natural to prepare certain words in public

It's a cute message but it's a bit basic and repetitive in execution.

As much as I like the intention, saying "kindness kindness kindness" over and over doesn't make people go kind... Throughout history people got their rights by fighting, not by being gentle to everyone.

If she really wants to make a change she'd be better off getting political and confront the power in place. She still does it, but the "kindness!!!" speech kinda feels like empty words next to when she actually tackles controversial issues.

I need her to take clear stances for pro-choice movement, anti-Trump statements, or bring attention to touchy things that are often overlooked like sweatshops or environmental issues.

Now she did raise millions for an organization so she puts the work behind the words and is AMAZING for doing that when other celebs are singing Imagine, but I don't feel like the kindness speeches are really needed. It feels like she's talking to children rather than trying to make people think.

She's making a literal speech here for an event. It's not a one on one interview. This is not what I'm talking about. Fans are getting mad at her for talking about kindness in interviews.

Ugh I deleted to avoid drama haha but... No it doesn't mean it's fake (the meaning of her words), but it comes across as forced and inorganic which is what everybody is saying in here

I can understand that but Gaga has nothing but good intentions it's unfair to say that about her especially after raising millions for the virus. She's a good person

I think the issue is more that these speeches lack a bit of substance. It's not a jab at her. Doesn't take away the good intentions or anything, but it's just a bit redundant. It feels like she's teaching kindness to elementary school students... It's cute but she should use more thought provoking words if she wants to have the impact she's seeking.

I’m so over even hearing the word “kindness“. It’s like, ok, we get it. Now let’s talk about something deeper.

She’s not a politician, though.

yes, I agree to an extent that seeing her speak more frankly about certain issues would be nice, but I don’t think it’s fair to expect what you would from a politician as you would from someone who isn’t.

I think she’s been frank enough about LGBTQ rights, feminism, black lives matter, pro choice :ohwell:

The irony that she started the BTWF and promoting kindness because of fans at shows confiding in her that they were bullied, depressed, etc. and now that same fanbase is dragging her for it. :saladga:

I love the fact that she has always preached self acceptance and kindness from day one, but it definitely feels forced and cringy now.

I don't agree with that sentiment u guys are having about her "forcing" it. I think she's went thru a lot mentally and physically and pain whether physical or mental is very hard to cope and u start to think very hard about life and the meaning of ur life compared to others, what good u are doing in this world and that's the transformation she's been having and she obviously figured out that helping others helps her & doing what she feels is right to the best of her ability, helps her cope with daily pain. So to say everything is forced and a turn off is a little bit sad because u are not even living one day in her shoes

She doesn't have to do all this, I 100% agree, but you can clearly tell she wants to make a change, so I just feel like she needs to push it further.

I'm saying that exactly because she has done so much with BTW. Back then her message was bold, in your face, empowering, etc, and it clearly worked.

The kindness phase seems a bit washed down compared to that... It's not very empowering or thought provoking. Even super basic "woke" pop strikes more of a cord imo (Chained by the rhythm by Katy was not a masterpiece, but it still did the job at being a cute denounciation of the system without going all political).

"I was born this way" is a very powerful statement, whereas "Kindness punks" is... well... not really impactful :poot:

Her repeating "kindness" all over is more of a "live laugh love" kind of thing than an actual empowering mantra

Yes, I kind of agree. To start with, I absolutely think being kind to others is very important, and this world needs more kindness, and I don't like drama. However, this is sort of how it's starting to become for me: imagine you have a friend that is VERY against littering. Obviously littering is bad, so this is good this friend cares about stopping littering. But, imagine if every time you hung out, this friend was like "you aren't littering, are you?", even if you aren't. And then in a group gathering, while everyone is talking about music or something, they come in and say "We need to discuss littering!!" It gets to a point where it's just a little much.

Of course I agree.

I believe she can be a wonderful person, AND still have my own perception/feedback regarding her delivery. Doesn't mean I think she's a bad person.

I'm fine with it. However, it's her way of dealing with things, and something we all need more of, especially some of you on here. :trollga: Being rude, and mean isn't a personality trait.
