2:00 she says gaga seems like an empty vessel just trying things on. And that gaga has no personality.

Do you think she was right  after all.? I mean gaga had a press conferences  in 2015 were she literally  kinda  said she had been doing alot of things she didn't  want to do in her career.she said she had found herself and started saying no.  Hence the reduction  in her use of costumes today. Gaga has also been criticised for being fake by gagadailians

I Personally like to believe all the custumes were a product of gagas artistic  drive because she had very valid artistic explanations for everything she did  ,every controversial  look  was symbolic .every song was metaphorical.

So guys discuss , retrospectively  do  you think  grace jones had a point. Does gaga have personality.?

For me ,yes gaga has  personality

Yes, Gaga has a personality. However, she's maturing, and growing over time, so you can't really expect her to have the same mind set that she had in her early 20's.

I can’t remember what interview this was from so I might be wrong, but didn’t she say that “Gaga” was basically a character she created out of trauma, and over the years as she’s worked through it, she’s bridged the gap between Gaga and Stefani and come to terms with the fact that they’re the same person?

i think “an empty vessel just trying things on” is cold and kind of extreme, but also not completely off base

reality’s tight if the music is right

I wouldn't take it as far as Grace. I don't think Gaga has no personality, but, with time, I've come to realize that Gaga, as an artist, has always been about projecting what fame is, how it works, its consequences, and everything related to it. Her art somehow is always connected with those ideas. So, that being said, I guess it's necessary for her to be referential, mainly on her early years when she was addressing this topic more directly. I don't know if I'm explaining myself anyways  it's 7am here and I haven't slept at all.

Ngl, sometimes Gaga has seemed inauthentic.

When I saw her Joanne tour in Atlanta, she spoke with a forced southern accent and justified it by saying "my Mama's from West Virginia".

At the same time, I think an artist has every right to be an empty vessel if they choose.  Gaga still has depth and a personality, for sure.  And like others say, in her early 20s she was going through some sh*t.

I honestly think she's fascinating for having the ability to put on different "hats".  Sometimes, she's fake, but I love her work, her message and her intelligence.  And the magic of art is that it doesn't require 100% authenticity.

(She's also got some strong Scorpio and Gemini placements in her birth chart, so it makes sense lol)

Of course Gaga has a personality. She is the person who had the nerve to stand up for many things.

Is she going to scream Venus all the times? No. She is a real human, of course there’s theatrical moment and there’s more genuine and stripped down one. We are all like that.

Please ignore the spelling in username. I am a Beyonce stan afterall.

jeez its like gaga's forbidden from having a multifaceted personality... you know... like a real person

its like, for one part of the fanbase, she's only 'true' and 'authentic' when she's talking about the art of darkness and in goth punk pop aesthetic, that she's only really GAGA when she's dressed batshit crazy and talking about art death and sex

and that she's being fake for talking about kindness and wanting to dress down, and wanting to do good things for the world... jeez, people are supposed to be dimensional.

People are not just one thing. You'd think for an artist like Gaga who's pretty versatile and always changing, her fans would understand.

Grace is a legend and has influenced pop culture so much.

I personally adore her and think she is an icon in music fashion and pop culture.

Unfortunately rn she has lost most of relevance. Instead of being grateful for her influence and how much she influenced pop culture she's just bitter that shes not relevant anymore.

I hope she gets a grip

Are you really going to ask if a person who wrote all these life-changing songs, brought culturally relevant artistry to pop, and orchestrated this whole massive event has no personality?

Wow, if she doesn't have one, I don't know if anyone does. You're asking if LADY GAGA has a personality. Let that sink in for a minute.

Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊

Amen. One of the points Marina and the Diamonds made with Electra Heart was that we slip into different characters when we encounter different people.

I guess some people expect Gaga to be in a chainmail bikini and talking about semen while interviewing the Dalai Lama. Lorde.

TBH I feel like fans need to chill when it comes to Grace Jones or a few of the people who have criticized Gaga. She's an icon, but she shades nearly EVERYONE to the point it gets tiring. She's not singling out Gaga, and even if she was it was ages ago.

*People often bring up Grace because she had a "blind item" that many assumed to be Gaga (she described the artist in similar ways she is describing Gaga here), but in the blind item she mentioned that the artist had a Vegas residency...and the only one who had a residency at that time who fit the rest of the criteria was Mimi. And I love Grace, but she can't come close to Mimi's vocals.
