Chromatica promotion isn't possible and it's okay

Here we go again... :lolly:

She could do plenty of things to keep the buzz going and release the album later this year with a re-edition (add 5 tracks).

Miss Dua for example is bringing dancers to her performances, music, backing vocalists...

Who cares about the performances? She could do more when everything is okay, I'll gladly take a performance with a green screen behind her and some dancers added later on than nothing.

I agree 100%, at least when it comes to a full album release. Honestly I'm really hoping she can release it before the end of this year. And to those saying she can do what Dua did: I don't think she can pull what Dua did with an online performance with her dancers, only because it's pretty likely that Richard hasn't choreographed anything yet and idk how you'd rehearse AT ALL :enigma:. Dua has only performed Don't Start Now, and Break My Heart online, those two had already been choreographed AND filmed before lockdowns were put in place.

Though I think she could manage to release a "promo" track from the album at least. Just anything to satisfy us until we hear the full thing. :bradley:

The things is 'cute online quarantine videos' for an album like Chromatica will not be sufficient in delivering the artistic vision she intended for it.

It's not like you have to wait for 2 years, just until perhaps November or December, depending on how the situation is.

albums been done since last january

It's not like she's gonna need 35 dancers for the performances. She could do fine with 3 or 4.

We all know Richy and we saw Stupid Love, do you really think they're working hard on choreos? :ladyhaha:

Well if she's only performing Stupid Love, it makes sense and I could see it working with just a few dancers like Dua did.

But there's people suggesting she release and perform the album tracks, with there most likely being no choreo or band rehearsals to even accomplish it. At least accomplish it well :messga:

Well... look at Dua Lipa, she's handling it just fine.

Dua debuted at #4 with like 45k units or something.

Also Dua started the era WAY earlier than Gaga. She performed Don't Start Now all over the world including Europe and Asia. She attended tons of award shows performing DSN. Do you see the same for Stupid Love?

And Dua's album leaked, she had to rush release it, and she has no choice but to do it anyway, it doesn't mean it's ideal for someone who has an option not to release it now, such as Gaga.

Also she delivered a very domestic performance on Fallon, see the above argument by chromatikev about why Dua had to do what she did and it's not possible for Gaga.

How are these choices optimal for Gaga?

How is this enough for an album release? I think you've underestimated the time and effort put into an album release.

My thoughts:

1) there’s a lot of music in the world and I’m sure nobody has listened to all of it. If you’re really starved for something new, go find something new and expand your horizons, she doesn’t owe anybody a specific timeline

2) if she released it without promo, everyone would complain about that too. No performances, no looks, etc. Stop pretending like y’all don’t care about that haha

3) it’s cute that people seem to think another album is coming anytime soon, if at all. Enjoy this era while you can, and brace yourself for potentially a very long wait for the next one

tl;dr—I agree with op, it’s better to wait until there’s some degree of normalcy

petty

at this point anyone who thinks it’s a good idea to release an album this massive during a pandemic is delusional. Gaga didn’t spend 2 years on an album with all these plans to just flush it down the drain. Money needs to be made and charts need to be topped and that’s just that on that.

So for those of you who want her to wait 2 years, will she even care about the album in that time? By that time she will have been sitting on it for so long I could see her growing out of it and not being excited about it anymore.

S0436

Would the first week sales be any different if she doesn’t perform on SNL and Jimmy Kimmel etc though?  She is pretty much guaranteed 200k+ first week, pandemic or not. So if promotion on TV is the main reason for postponing, I don’t see the point.

I mean #1 at the US last week was 90K, she can top that :ladyhaha:
She can release the album and the videos she's done and promote it with interviews on radios, lives on instagram, performances, lyric videos...
And then, when things get better release a re-edition and go full promo like she has planned and earn that money.
