I sympathize with stuttering problems but his issues with forming sentences are more than just stuttering at this point. Also, even if we don't hold it against him, people generally will. If you're not a stutterer (and I don't mean the occasional stammer, but had to go to speech pathology classes for most of your childhood stutterer), you have no clue how challenging it is. Joe was most likely going to stutter over a word. He felt it coming, tried to switch words (a technique all stutterers use to "get through" the oncoming stutter), then lost his train of thought. I can't tell you how frustrating it is. It makes one feel so stupid for something they can't control. Yes, I was a terrible stutterer as a child and still slip up from time to time now. If I had to speak in public like Joe? Yikes. It's okay to hate on Joe if you don't like his politics. But go easy on his stutter. Whispering 18,865 Posted April 19, 2020 Share Posted April 19, 2020 Yes, Biden “stumbled” over his words for a few seconds here. He has a stutter. Sometimes he stumbles over his words. That doesn’t make Biden less intelligent or show that he is in some kind of cognitive decline. I saw the whole interview and this was a few seconds he got his words hung up in a ten minute long answer session. I’ve seen Joe do town halls for an hour and not have any stumbles or stutters of any kind. Sometimes he does. Of course, there are always those around who like to point and laugh.
