This still doesn’t excuse the fact that the US failed to adopt quick testing methods that worked and helped other countries curve the virus and the failure of the CDC to produce working tests.

Early on, the failure in adopting a working test protocol resulted in a positive person being let out of quarantine for 12 hours in my city. They visited places including the airport hotel that my high risk roommate works at and the mall that we frequently visited.

Very true. I have no idea why they didn’t turn to private companies for manufacturing and roll out help? There are many brilliant minds in the US and the govt failed to use them...
