Arturo 40,746
I feel like even Drake gate was over exaggerated by some of the stan world. Who wasn’t checking that album out? Unless you’re a fomo that refuses to listen to anything other than women and pop. I mean its still the only album to ever get 700+ million streams in the US in a week and I believe the only one to do 600+ million for that matter. That’s how large the gap is between it and the 2nd most streamed album in a week. It deserved its placements because it was so anticipated.

At the end of the day the main objective of every digital platform (Apple, Spotify, Amazon etc.) is to succeed over the other and be on people’s top of mind. Was this too much? Maybe so, but did anyone talk about Apple Music during therapy day? They managed to be on the people’s top of mind. When the race for Premium subscribers is they right between them, they need to come up with these things.

Were they simply late? @La Rosalia I don’t have a clue. It may have happened because of the editorial pitch given to Spotify, backing this up with marketing. for instance, let’s say that Universal music wanted to have that cover that week because that’s when the global citizen thing took place. They could always use this arguments like “We are confident that Gaga is going to increase her streams after the event in France, and we’ll also run a social media campaign pointing to Spotify consumption blabla it would be beneficial for us to be included on there playlist”. This is usually how things are done when the artist is not necessarily slaying and you can really use high consumption as an argument.

What Stupid Love lacked in France (and everywhere lol) was Lean forward consumption. This is when people play the song from their own library or by searching it directly from Spotify. in this case , it grew on the Lean back consumption. Once they took it out, it fell. Work your way up to make big decisions for Ms. Gaga. Imagine the charts thread directly having a voice in Gaga’s career kiii But in all honesty they did what they could with SL. SL’s large debut showed she had the right playlisting AND the right amount of interest from the public. It’s subsequent fall was because of its lack of replay value (according to the GP, not me btw) She just needs a song the GP will keep on rihplay because the interest is there. The interest is there for sure, it just didn’t click, but with the right song, we shouldn’t worry about this! lol and also that’s my dream, and why I pursued this opportunity. Hopefully I’ll make it.
