The question isn’t: “Is Gaga Generic?” Because the answer is undoubtably, NO!

The question is: “Does Gaga Do Generic Well?” Which is a fair question because she’s a POP artist with a few generic songs (The Cure, all the pop songs on ASIB, some The Fame tracks, Stupid Love, etc.). 
 

Gaga is the least generic pop girl out there, that’s a FACT. But she has a handful of generic tracks.

but that's exactly it... Max Martin introduced the standard for the current generic sound, that's his thing... Gaga is known for something completely different, so that's why she can't do generic well. She'd need to introduce a new kind of generic in order to be successful at it.

I think she does it well. She’s probably the only artist that can make me like a generic pop song. She always adds her characteristic Gaga flair to the songs which make them stand out to me, even if the song is basic and trendy.

I would say no. Every generic Gaga song falls far below in terms of popularity. 
 

She’s best when she isn’t following trends and making pop music Gaga style
