JustJames 997
The song can be on the album; it can even be a collaboration with Ariana. However, as others have stated, have we forgotten the list of A-list collaborators Gaga left on deep cuts? 1. Flo Rida - Starstruck (in the days he was getting Kesha her first peak at a #1) 2. T.I. (Justin Timberlake, among many others, say hello!) 3. Florence Welch Not to mention the scrapped songs with Azealia, Cher, Kendrick, and so many others. The fact that so many Lady Gaga fans are so outwardly desperate for a collaboration with another artist, who has 10 less Grammys, 2 fewer #1 hits, etc., for the literal SOLE purpose of "streaming power" is really sad to see. The ULTIMATE FLOP of a lead single, Stupid Love, pushed Gaga to #20 on Spotify and combined with her radio presence that improved as a result, a high-quality solo effort with minimal promo and performances would be more than enough for commercial success. Even without it, a middle-tier dance pop song in 2020 without her biggest tools in play (promo/performances) got her a #5. Please tell me why she NEEDS anyone or anything at this point in her career? If we had heard the song and it was of such high quality that losing it would be disappointing, fine. But, this is purely about things that simply shouldn't matter to people who stan an artist releasing her 6th solo LP, who has an Oscar, four #1 hits, 11 Grammys, and is an outright legend who just scored a debut #5 single. on. her. own. Finally, collaborations are almost ALWAYS a disappointment commercially and NEVER have the impact on an album or era that is expected. Fans don't associate the blended sound with either artist and the song tends to exist in a black hole that belongs to neither. Whitney+Mariah, Britney+Madonna, and even actual hits like Brandy+Monica... or, 1 artist overwhelms the artist the song is intended for... ahem, Side-to-Side, the smash hit by JESSIE J. ImSoStarstruckk 357
I live Ari but at this point that would be funny and I don’t really love Gaga’s collabs anyway 🤷🏼♂️ A fully solo album is still the best option in my opinion
