Isidro Guevara 821
So we all know BTW era was rather messy but still iconic! One thing I noticed is that they hadn't planned a 3rd single for the era. Judas was it's 2nd single and it was the label who chose it cause they thought it would smash and would be BR 2.0. This obviously didn't happen because they quickly rushed TEOG as a promo single in order to compensate for Judas underperformance. They knew TEOG had potential to smash, but was it planned to be the 3rd single? I don't think so since they had to change the whole routine for Judas/TEOG. The question is, if Judas smashed and became a huge hit, what would have been the 3rd single? Single runs usually last 2-3 months so that means the 3rd single would be released in August and be performed at the VMA's. I don't think You And I was even considered to be a single for the era. I believe the 3rd single was supposed to be Marry The Night. So the era would have gone something like this: 1. Born This Way (Feb. 2011) 2. Judas (Apr. 2011) 3. Marry The Night (Aug.2011) 4. ? Edge Of Glory maybe? (Nov/Dec. 2011) What do you think? I'll WRECK U right Up...G.U.Y.!!!🌋💥
Gracious Gaga 17,163
I have so many questions about this era- she wanted like 7 or 9 singles apparently ♥ Kindness Police.
Creyk 17,805
I think TEOG would still have been the third single it was a very meaningful song for her and it's very good so they probably wanted to release it. Then we know she wanted Scheisse and Heavy Metal Lover as singles. HML would follow MTN if it did not flop.

There was a leaked audio of her background interview with Alan Carr chatty man where she gave us the iconic MTN acoustic piano performance where she said that she wants to shoot a video for Heavy Metal Lover. And the Scheibe music video was supposed to have humanoid robots in it, she commissioned a german artist to model them but interscope said no the the release so many years later the artist just uploaded the concept online. If the era had gone very well then ok, it could've been possible. But it's not the 80s when 6 singles could get released and still get radio play. I think 4 singles were intended and if that went well then more could've been released. I just find it strange how Judas and You And I were singles. They were pretty messy. I believe she said it herself she wanted 6+ singles. katy perry teenage dream and Taylor Swift 1989 had LOTS of singles with LOTS of radio play ♥ Kindness Police. homomo 23,883
It was always going to be TEOG or Hair. She released them back to back and wanted to see which one stuck with people more, and obviously TEOG won that battle. 0110100001100101011011000110110001101111
HugoJG 1,108
I once read that she originally wanted BTW, MTN, Scheiße and TEOG (idk if in that order). I think she said it in 2012
