You will probably be able to see your fiance, as travel opens up, but the risk of transmission will be there.  So, to avoid spreading the disease, will we be willing to implement more intrusive background checks and surveillance that may involve medical history, travel patterns, the possibilities of encountering someone who tested positive for Covid-19, as with the usual security check points?

How will that work?  What will we be willing to sacrifice in the name of privacy and personal rights to make it work?

Having a good immune system is the key to evolving and adapting against infections.  Practicing good hygiene going forward should be even more protocol than before and even after a vaccine is approved by the FDA.

Unfortunately this will be integrated in our environment and there’s nothing we can do about it other than adapt and overcome. A vaccine available for public use won’t be available until next year; granted, I have a feeling all the governments of the world won’t wait until 2022 to resume normal activities. Shoot, we all thought a tweet from that moron in the White House would start WW3 and it seems like this virus will definitely create more global instability.

It’ll probably be kinda how TSA now will randomly pat down any passenger of their choosing. They’ll probably conduct rapid testing to see if anyone showing symptoms is a carrier. By that point rapid testing should be a common resource.

Yes, the TSA will need to be more than security personnel.  It may need to include someone medically trained, at least a registered nurse to conduct tests safely and accurately.    I guess thermometers can be used to check for fevers, but how do they weed out those who may be asymptomatic? 

Or maybe international flights should be on hold for a while until cases calm down at least in Europe and Asia.

Clinical trials are taking place everywhere around the world and for different options (recovered people's plasma, old and already approved drugs) and new developments are also on the way. Hopefully something efficient will come out of this, fingers crossed.

They have in fact started a second vaccine (1 in March another recently) 

so I mean if the world being locked down has done anything it’s really pushed us to advance our medical technology! Might be beneficial in the long run for all viruses

It's hard to phantom society going back to what we once knew after all of this. I remember in the beginning of March it was weird to walk into a bar when we first heard the virus started to spread. Now you kind of freak out if someone comes too close to you in the grocery store. 

Even when society opens up again this will have psychological effects on everyone.

I'm mentally coming to terms with that this will take time. I hope we will get cross immunity, but it probably will take time.
