I think a lot of the music sounded very 2011/2012. It would’ve been considered more experimental and exciting if she just released it like 1 year earlier. agreed, but I feel like a lot of Pop music fans are craving that 2011/2012 pop sound again in 2020
vmpiregrn 917
I do love Joanne, but it is the least cohesive sonically, so it gets my vote. If I listen to it beginning to end, it feels very randomized and jumbled, as though I'm listening to a file of unreleased compilations that fans put together on the Internet. I can enjoy all of the songs independently of another, but they don't work together. So, Joanne. (Though it pains me to say it, as I loved the look/promo and that era provided us with her strongest vocals)

johnmonster 399
If Joanne (Where Do You Think You're Going), and The Cure we're part of Joanne, it would have been a stronger record. I do like a few songs from it, but it's a lot of filler and one dirge after another...
BornAsUnic0rn 2,063
Voting for any one of these would be blasphemy. All of them hold a special place in my heart.
Lorde Von Kok 4
Joanne hands down. Even she admitted (Zane Lowe Interview) that she "failed" her goal with the record. What is done in the dark shall one day come to light.
Just A Holy Fool 2,550
This was incredibly hard for me, but I had to go with ARTPOP, its her least cohesive album to date. It has some of my favourite songs in her discography, but also many of my least favourite. I knew the Joanne hate was real, but 50%? Wow. It represented such growth in her as an artist, and transitioned us into ASIB perfectly. Don't hate on me
Lukey 588
I really love all of Gaga's albums, but Joanne is my least favorite. The Fame and ARTPOP are my favorite albums, I really like the messy sound of the latter and I love every single song on The Fame The Fame Monster is simply iconic and Born This Way contains some of her best lyrics and it's full of gems. Joanne has some very good songs (I love Joanne, John Wayne, PI, Angel Down, Just Another Day, Sinner's Prayer and Come To Mama) but I can't really connect with it, so yeah no

KORG 4,756
ARTPOP is her most cohesive album. "we could belong together" and every track has a husband. Gypsy is about travelling, there are references to greek gods - which were named/paired with planets - and it had intergalactic travel lyrics. Then the fact that to blast off in a rocket you get high, and there are drug references everywhere. I can't put up with her. Let me educate you. For the ancient Greeks (before the age of telescopes) the night sky was thought to consist of two very similar components: fixed stars, which remained motionless in relation to each other, and "wandering stars" *(Gypsies)* (Ancient Greek: asteres planet-ai), which moved relative to the fixed stars over the course of the year. Venus is the Roman name for Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty. The planet is so named because it is the brightest of the planets known to the ancients. It is the brightest object in the sky except for the Sun and the Moon. Venus has been known since prehistoric times. It was popularly thought to be two separate bodies: Eosphorus as the morning star and Hesperus as the evening star. *(2? Oh, we could belong together. I see)* In Homer's the Odyssey, magic is described throughout the story. The goddess of magic Circe, is known for using potions and a magic wand. She used her potions to transform her enemies into animals. An example is in the Odyssey where she transforms Odysseus' friends into pigs. *(Or Swine, one might say)* Nepenthe is a drug similar to marijuana. It was used in Ancient Greece as an anti-depressant. Nepenthe is the Drug of Forgetfulness and Sorrow *(Drugs drugs drugs)* This has been a dissertation by the ARTPOP foundation of the world. The album was very much before its time, before any time, really, because you have to study for 10 years before you understand it. Peace and love.
