LastNight 5,935 Posted April 8, 2020 Share Posted April 8, 2020 I think it’s only a matter of time before it is. I hope everyone is preparing themselves and saves us from a day of meltdowns on here. It would be completely understandable if it is postponed. I’m in the UK and although I think our lockdown will be over (or at least loosened up) by July, I can’t imagine the Government will allow thousands-strong crowds all gathering together. I’m pretending that London has already been postponed to be honest; I’m not remotely convinced that I’ll be seeing her live this Summer and I’m ok with it - it’s a strange time and safety is the most important thing right now. My Joanne tour date was cancelled twice and now Chromatica will almost definitely be postponed, but that’s the way it goes - she’ll reschedule, I’m sure of it. The Joanne cancellation was devastating, but it couldn’t be helped - I feel bad for how awful it must feel for her to have to cancel. Unfortunately some fans will throw past issues back in her face, so I don’t blame her for hoping she can avoid it with Chromatica. If I was her I’d feel terrible knowing I’ve had to to cancel tours in the past and will probably have to postpone this upcoming one. When I first heard about this I was so bummed because my friend and I got tickets, and she goes to Uni in Toronto, so if it was happening later than August it's likely she'd be unable to attend because of school taking up her time once September comes around. That's probably also one of the reasons they're waiting to announce a postponement until the government makes the decision for them. It softens the blow, doesn't make the decision theirs. Another reason is that she and her team, as a lot of other artists and events, are still hopeful to still get on the road this summer, even though it looks less and less likely. The third reason is that if organisations/artists cancel now, the insurance won't pay probably, whereas when it's the government that prohibits large gatherings on a national scale, it's a case of force majeure, which would give organisations/artists a higher possibility to be covered by their insurance.
