Supersonic 49,376 Posted April 7, 2020 Share Posted April 7, 2020 Sportswear manufacturer Adidas has earned a sh*tstorm in its home country Germany after announcing that they will suspend rent payments for all of their European stores due to the Coronavirus outbreak. An investigative report by a German newsoutlet Tagesspiegel found that Adidas accumulated cash reserves of over 2 Billion Euros in 2019 alone, which would be enough to pay rent for all of their stores for more than a year, which erupted in a social media sh*tstorm. German secretary of employment Hubertus Heil joined the sh*tstorm and accused Adidas on national television of trying to abuse Germany's new emergency laws, which allows non-liquid businesses to temporarily suspend rent payments, for their own monetary profit, which could cause a chain reaction of all big retailers in Germany and seriously destabalize the economy.
