US COVID-19 projections updated

IHME released their updates projections for COVID-19 in the US. Very good news for Washington state. We seem to be past our peak days of resource use and deaths.

In most EU countries the peak is around now, and isn't the US like 1/2 weeks behind EU?

Finally a bit of good news. The predictions for Florida have moved the peak from mid-May to mid-April. But don't let these new numbers lure us into a false sense of security. These predictions will only come to fruition IF and only IF we continue to maintain social distancing and follow other CDC guidelines. I hope this dies down some before June 12, I really don't want my trip to see my fiance cancelled.

It was in a New York Times Article & Dr. Fauci, the disease expert has made it known that without a vaccine, the disease will go dormant in the summer but arise in the winter with flu season, aka get worse, and we’ll be going different periods of shelter in place orders.

Yeah, it sucks but we won’t see the end of this til December of this year /January of next year, or possibly, God forbid longer, not to mention the long term changes & effects this will have on the economy, our social lives, and our work lives.

If you look at the total of US deaths projected it’s 80,000, assuming the mortality rate is 2.5%( it is going to be much higher) that’s only 3,000,000 infected Americans. Where as swine flu, which wasn’t as infectious, infected 22,000,000.
