And he will have a reserved ventilator and the best healthcare the UK can offer, meanwhile the rest of the UK will have to take their chances with because of the government’s late action on tackling the outbreak.

The UK is #5 in terms of deaths as of right now.

He was very reckless at the beginning, shaking people's hands, he didn't take this issue seriously, not to mention telling british people to prepare for deaths. Very bad leadership

Poor guy, I don’t wish this virus on anyone. I hope he recovers soon.

I wonder how ill he is... check ups, supplemental oxygen, blood tests, even x rays could easily be done in residence to avoid these headlines.

The UK has completely blundered their response. California and the UK have roughly the same population size but the UK death total is 15x higher (5k~ vs 300~).

I think he may be quite ill and they cover it or try to keep the public calm by saying admitted for tests, he's been sick now for 11 days, he is in his 50s overweight and high blood pressure. I expect its pneumonia.

To anyone revelling in this cuz you don't like him, disgusting.

The man is gravely ill and could die from this. He is doing his best to lead a country through a difficult time, while fighting the virus himself. Don't be immature.

Kinda like his US counterpart.

But I don't wish this on anyone. I truly don't.

Although I didn't vote for him in the last election, I would never wish any harm on him. What's even more sad about this, is that his wife (although I believe she hasn't been tested yet) has started to show symptoms and she's pregnant. Everything seems to be getting more and more scary. :ohno:

Chromatica will live on forever.

They were clear that he still is experiencing a fever and coughing 10 days after testing positive. The length of time he has been sick is concerning (2 weeks after infection). He likely is having difficulty breathing or other symptoms that worried his doctor. Wishing him and his wife the best.

“God” works in mysterious ways. I don’t sympathize for him but hope he gets better. Maybe he will have a different viewpoint on all of this if and when he gets better.

California is somewhere else on the map. The weather is different. People in California have different living conditions than UK or New York. Those "little" details are also important.

You can actually see by looking at US that tougher measures have different results state by state, which means these other factors are probably more important.

The UK's population is 66 million whereas California's is 39. That's a difference of 27 million people. The virus also started spreading a bit later in California, so expect deaths to go up over there too. There's also other factors that should be taken into consideration, like the user above me stated, so it's really not a comparable scenario.

That being said, it is true that the UK's response to this virus has been less than sufficient, and the same can be said about a lot of other countries as well.
