Because he consistently puts out great reviews and analyses music in depth for people such as myself who enjoy seeing albums analysed and critiqued in the way that he does. I don't understand why anyone could 'not know' why people give him attention because he's a very interesting, intelligent music reviewer.

In the first minute of the video posted he says he'd "assumed that Lipa was gonna stay in the trajectory of her first album forever until eternity". He doesn't seem very intelligent to me if he's gonna make assumptions about things that way. Why did he assume that? Because she makes pop? because she's a female? What made him think that she couldn't grow? It's things like these that show that he's an asshole and he needs to get down from his high horse imo.

Also he doesn't say anything new. Yeah the album is called "Future nostalgia" yeah the album has futuristic touches but also a vintage disco sound, :awkney:

I stopped watching there.

Also I've never watched his BTW review so idk about that.

He thinks Good In Bed is tacky and obnoxious with its repetition, and he thinks Boys Will Be Boys had potential but its message is a bit recycled and nothing all that new. He says that the album's worst moments come exactly where you don't want them to, right at the end.

This guy is so annoying. He thinks he's a musical expert who gets to have the almighty say and judgement on what is good or bad music... but he's just some self-righteous pleb who likes some music more than others just like the rest of us   his opinions are amateur and unprofessional, but he thinks using technical jargon and run-along sentences makes him intelligent or superior or something idk

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

Well he went on to admit that he was wrong :emma: I think he said that because there have been countless figures in pop who never strayed outside the sound of their successful debut album. Also he definitely doesn't have any discrimination against women in pop :sharon: Charli XCX's album was his #1 album of 2020. She's a woman? She's pop? :emma:

I could find so many women in pop that he has supported, I don't think this argument is justified. He says negative things about men too, in fact most of the albums he hates are by shìtty male rappers.

And you said you stopped watching there? So how would you know that he doesn't say anything new? :rip:  The review is nine minutes long sis.

He signs off his reviews with 'Y'all know this is just my opinion, right?'

Also I can't find the video rn cos it was a few months ago but he made a video on that exact topic. He made it clear that he doesn't think himself better than anyone else, that everyone's opinion is as valid as his. At no point does he ever say he's an expert or has total judgment over what's good or bad. An example was when he said that Stupid Love was not for him but fans of her early music will enjoy it.

At no point does he ever act like his opinions are worth more than others, it's just an attitude that people have towards him because he reviews music as a job.

This guy annoys me... he clearly appeals to the wannabe edgy straight males who read Pitchfork :coffee:

I was just wonder why he thought that. I have no idea. But why would he? Why can't Dua Lipa grow? If he put Charli no. 1 then it makes less sense that he would put Dua in a box.

I watched half the review and for a so called intelligent reviewer he was saying nothing new :awkney: He had already discussed several songs.

Most comments here are just salty about his Born This Way review and I can see why you'd feel that way. This is his point of view, he's not a biased gay guy going crazy about a mAiN pOp GirL deLivEriNG bOpS. He actually takes the time to listen to albums a couple of times and talk about everything. A 7 is pretty good and he liked most of the tracks, Good In Bed and Boys Will Be Boys are the weak parts of it and I agree.

You guys obviously don't have to watch his reviews or care either but he liked ARTPOP and Joanne. We're just discussing this because it's a new album lol.
